I have an Epson Stylus CX2900 Which I bought while living in Malaysia. I can't get new printer cartridges here in UK. What can I do? I understand it may be known by a different model number here to avoid the import of cheap printers/cartidges.

I understand that your NX415 can't recognize your ink, here's a tutorial which might help with this:

The SSC utility can't reset any of the modern Epson printers chips, only the waste ink protection counters. For the fill level chip you will need a chip resetting tool, which you can buy very cheaply on EBay - have a look at these:

Are you sure there is space for 5 cartridges? You are using T0711-714 right?

The DX4200 uses:
Black T0611
Cyan T0612
Magenta T0613
Yellow T0614

... while the DX4400 uses:
Black T0711
Yellow T0714
Magenta T0713
Cyan T0712


Best bet is to eBay them or find someone who wants to trade.

Try to reset it :
SSC Utility has the latest version SSC Utility 4.30... This time it can now reset the Epson Stylus CX2900...
Download the latest version and Install it...
Under Configuration...
Select Installed Printer (EPSON Stylus CX2900 Series)
Under Printer Model
Select EPSON Stylus CX2800...

the problem might be the ink, change the cartridge maybe the ink dried out....
