A while back I had an issue with my 2430DL and instead of fixing it I just bought a used printer on Ebay. The toner on my bad printer was new (95%) so now the toner on the new printer from Ebay has ended and I just replaced the toner with the toner from my bad printer.
My issue is the printer does not calculate the toner life from the new cartridges from my old printer. It still gives me the message toner empty black which is annoying. I changed the setting to continue printing so I am still able to print.
Is there a way that I can get the printer to calculate from the existing toner on the cartridges or at least reset them to new since all 4 toner cartridges from my old printer are pretty new (95%).

There are many problems like that and its not recommended to change toner from one printer to another.
but you should try: put the old toner (emty) in again, then turn off the printer, change toner and turn on printer again.
if thats not helping, then maybe you have a old FW so you can try to update the firmware.
