The washer still works but it is extremely loud during spin cycle. I spun the drum by hand with no cloths in it and it feels like it is spinning ruff. Is there a bearing on these things that goes bad? If so is it an easy fix? It really makes me mad because the washer is not even 3 years old now and its already broke. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.
There are always bearings. This model uses a direct drive brushless DC motor so there are no belts and such. Without actually hearing the noise with no load, it's hard to say what may actually be wrong. Any time a motor makes an abnormal noise, you can expect it won't last too much longer. I have the same model so now I'm worried.
Open the top ( 3 screws in top rear)
open the bottom (3 screws in bottom front lip)
look for the issue now.
unplug if your reaching in.
having a look around is the best without guessing
and there are always bearings somewhere.
Hi,
When my washer did that, I found that the shocks that hold the tub were bad...
Check out this tip I wrote about the noise and vibration that front load washers can make..
