My hoover hnf3157 machine spins briefly after a wash leaving the clothes still sodden. When it goes to a high speed spin it lasts about 5 to 20 seconds then stops. I have to do a separate spin to finish the wash. The filter and all the pipes are clean and the pump does seem to get rid of the water. I can hear the water empty in the drain. I have also checked the pressure hose is clear.

I am not a repair professional. I am just a 78 year old man who has been making his own repairs for about 50 years. Therefore the washer ID doesn't mean
anything to me. It's been about 55 years since I had experience with front load washers. However I can refer you to www.applianceaid.com where they have very good and complete trouble shooting and repair information on front loaders. I think you'll find what you need there. Don't worry about the timer, they hardly ever go bad. Good luck with it. If I have helped you, please rate my advice on fixya.

Every cycle on the washing machine works but when it goes to spin it doesn't spin and leaves clothes water logged

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. Your motor drive controls the spinning, agitation, and draining. You need to check that first.

I have a Hoover 750LA Top Load Washing Machine. It washes very well, but it doesn't seem to be spinning out. Clothes are still wet and a little soapy. How many belts does it have. Where is the pump on...

Try and choose a manual mode if there is one on the program controller. If this wont spins the motor it can be fault in the program controller unit.
You will need to check the voltage output from the controller during the spin cycle to confirm if there is a winding issue on the motor - if this is a high speed mode.
If so it is possible that the high speed winding is defective.

Not spinning in high speed

possibly a faulty "off-balance" detector, but not sure...try to purposely make it go off balance during wash...maybe a few pairs of sneakers?
