Windows xp.i reformatted and now my artec e+48u will not work possibly the driver (twain error,failed to open twain driver)

I have windows office but no disk for the artec 48u flatbed scanner is there a free download driver i could use to get it to work?

There are no more drivers for this scanner under Windows Seven .
If you have Win XP install disc , you can install a virtual version of XP on your existing HDD with WMware Player , for instance . It's free and works fine and is the only way to get your device running if you don' t want to by a new one .

If you are under W7 , there is no more driver available and the only way to get your device running would be to install a virtual version of W XP on your HDD , if you don't want to buy a new scanner .

go to control panel, under device manager uninstall imaging device (scanner) and click scan for hardware changes, if found new hardware occurred click next and choose no, not this time tab / choose install from the list specific location option tab / choose don't search i will choose the driver to install / click show compatible hardware tabs and select scanner type appeared.

You can find your drver on download.com once you are on the web site search by procut number (e+48u) not model.

You can try this solution, but it may not work. As of this time there is no support for your scanner with Vista from the manufactuar.

1) download the xp version driver by going to this link and choosing the Full Version.

2) right click the exe icon.
select properties , then compatibility and choose xp service pack 2.

Right click again and RUN as administrator
allow this program to run even though it has not been aproved by microsoft.

3) go to c:/windows/twain_32/ePlusPro/Scan32.exe
right click SCAN32.exe
select properties, then compatibility and choose XP service pack .
Right click again and RUN as administrator.

I actually created a shortcut to the desktop of scan32.exe.

Now everytime i click on this..........my artec e+pro scanner work absolutely fine.

The only problem is none of the shortcut butons work on the front of the scanner , but you can choose where to save the image to through the Twain program, then edit it it whatever program you require.

Hi! I having solve for this Problem! But you must have WinXP driver for that and you must have an driver-Installation from WinXP!
Install E+48U driver under "unsecured modus" and evan whit:
you must copy the Folder from XP c:\windows\Twain_32\ePlus48U ....... copy to Win7 same phat .
plus: file wiatwain.ds same phat .
than: copy XP-> ausba4.dll to W7 c:\windows phat .
and: copy XP-> c:\scanpanel Folder to W7 same phat .
run IrvanView choice TwainSource -> e+48U
and enjoy

Here is a site where you can download version 1.42 of the driver. Just to check you have it listed under the printer section of this site from my research it is shown as a scanner is that correct?
