There is a thermocouple on this heater just like on a water heater. I have this heater and have to do this periodically. You will have to take a few screws loose but it is an easy repair. There is a tube that delivers the gas to this thermocouple and inside there is an orfice that meters the gas. Take a safety pin and clean out the end and it should stay lit for you

Pilot light on Tempstar furnace wont stay lit. replaced thermo-couple and it still wont stay lit. what next???

Do you have a good pilot flame? Is it wrapping around the thermocouple good? You may need a new pilot orifice.

We jumped the high limit switch and now everthing stayd on except it wont stay lit

There might be a sensor in front of the burners. Looks like a metal rod. Make sure power is off and carefully use a wire brush to clean the rod. It will only have 1 wire to this sensor.

Light pilot on Royal deep fryer. Pilot will not stay lit. Second fryer has larger pilot have no trouble keeping it lit. How can I adjust the pilot so that it will stay lit?

there is a small adjustment screw on the gas valve, turn it clockwise to increase pilot,if that does not work the vent cap on the gas regulator on the back of the unit could be stopped up,remove that cap ,clean out or replace unit can operate without it just fine.If you increase the pilot and it still wont stay lit replace the thermocouple

Wont stay lit

go to this site www dot desatech dot com. Here you'll find parts to repair your heater. a propane heater uses a millivolt generator to sense the flame. along it's cappilary are two push on spde connectors. these connect to the high limit temperature sensor which is mounted on the flame backplate of your heater. to see if it is the high limit shutting down your heater, jumper across the two spade connectors. if the heater stays on, this is your problem. if the flame still goes out, then the millivolt generator is shot.
