Hoover CA230 1300 Special Edition Washing Machine

Machine works fine until the final spin. You can hear it pumping the water out. The drum turns once then stops. You can see hear the pump pumping water out. The machine does this for about 5 minutes then clicks to end. The clothes are dripping wet. Have checked pump, motor and brushes.

Any idea?

yes, got a similar problem, m/c runs through it's cycle so far and then programme control starts to spin round (through all wash cycles) eventually completing a spin cycle but leaving the clothes pretty wet. A friend says the programmer is done and needs replacing - looking for someone who has experienced a similar issue with these Hoover CA230 m/c's

Following freeze, water is gushing underneath hoover washing machine when mains turned on.

You'll need to tilt it or remove the back or pop the top to see where the leak is coming from. Unplug it first. I had my water pump crack and leaked. It was a plastic part not related to freezing though, and it only leaked when it ran a cycle. Perhaps your leak is prior to the water pump.

Water overflowing and not cutting off.

The water overflowing problem could be one of three possible problems.
Water fill valve
Pressure level switch
Hose coming from the drum to the pressure switch.
Here is an easy way to check all three.
While the machine is on with water filling up quickly unplug. If water is still going in then replace the water filler valve. (In 20 years i only seen this happen once!)
Open the top panel so you can get to the water level switch. There will be a hose hookup to it.
Make sure there is water in the drum in this test. Disconnect the hose from the level switch. (you can turn off machine for this test) Blow thru the hose and notice if you hear bubbles going in the drum/water. If you do then good. If you dont then the problem was the hose came off the drum. Make sure it is securely attached because sometimes when it spins it might come off. If you do hear bubbles then blow again, pinch hose. Then reconnect to the pressure switch. You create air to the pressure switch. It should now shut the water off at the lowest setting. if it still doesnt shut off replace the pressure level switch. Sometimes i do this trick and it starts working.

this is alot of info, if you need clarifying let me know, i am slowly getting better explaining but will get better later thanks hope this was helpful

Washing fine but is only spinning slowly and when finshed washing is still wet and some water still in barrel it has been spinning very noisely for weeks but decided to turn the radio up so i couldn't hear...

Water left in the drum could indicate a blockage in the outlet pipes or pump, could also be a faulty pump but this is to be checked after looking for a blockage. May be spinning slower due to the water that is being left in the drum as it will create extra weight against the motor.
If just a blockage once cleared it should spin back to life.

Hoover AM1100 Washing machine, wont final spin.

The noise, is it a grinding noisy like worn bearings?

put the washer on drain only - is the pump working ok, take the filter out to see if it is turning ok, does that make a strange noise?

If the pump is fine, its back to that noise, it could be be a faulty tacho on the motor ( regulates the spin speed) or motor bearings - has the motor spindle a lot of play on it?
Let me know how you get on and good look!

Hoover CA230 1300 Special Edition Washing Machine

I had the same problem. My husband checked the carbon brushes attached to the motor and ran the machine on spin. The brushes were sparking so he assumed they were worn and replaced them and hey presto machine works fine now. The brushes cost 23.99 and were just bought from a local shop but can be bought online cheaper. Hope this helps solve your problem. Essex

Water not draing away and machine is not spinning

Empty your machine manually by lowering the drain hose into a bowl or bucket. Then remove the kick plate and check the filter for blockages. Before replacing try the machine on drain to see if the pump is running, if problem persists there may be a blockage in the pipe from the drum to the pump.

Washing Machine Hoover H100M fills too much water in the drum.

this is 1 of 2 solutions  2 this problem the first thing to check is the vacuum system or it is a split in the pressure switch hose
