Hi, I recently purchased a JVC KW-NT1 car stereo from US. I live in UK and cannot change software to display uk/european maps. Apparently, JVC make 2 different models, US/CANADA version and European version. Do you know of any way to change software on unit from US/CANADA to EUROPEAN? Afterall, all the components, etc must be the same? Surely just a case of altering software? It runs on Windows Automotive OS. Thanks

Have you tried re-flashing the unit with the latest EU firmware update available from the JVC website? http://www.jvc-victor.co.jp/english/car/support/navi/nt1/eu/index.html Should overide the current firmware then allow you to use UK maps. If it doesn't work you can always reflash it with the USA update.

The process for resetting the password on a JVC KW-V850BT car stereo may vary depending on the specific model and software version. Here are some general steps you can try to reset the password on the JVC KW-V850BT:
Disconnect the battery: Disconnect the battery of your car for at least 30 seconds, then reconnect it. This will reset the car stereo to its default settings.
Press the reset button: If your JVC KW-V850BT has a reset button, press it and hold it for a few seconds until the unit restarts. This should reset the password to the default setting.
Check the manual: Refer to the manual of your JVC KW-V850BT to see if there are any specific instructions for resetting the password.
Contact the manufacturer: If you are still unable to reset the password, contact JVC customer support for further assistance.
It's worth noting that depending on the model and software version, the option to reset the password may not be available. In that case, you would have to contact the manufacturer for further assistance.
Unfortunately I have now solution. But since misery love company, take comfort that I'm experiencing exactly the same problem, even after the software update.
Hello As it can be set right for some time, and will turn back to its previous state, indicates fault with the internal electronic circuit. Switching IC inside is either faulty, or loose solderings with it. No GPS devices can be get repaired by other than Authorised Service STations; due to confidential reasons. Moreover, no spare parts of these kind of devices are available at open electronic market too. So it is best to get this device repaired from the authorised service center for JVC at your town. These are very accurate machines, gasping signals from various satellites at a time. Alaingment procedings to these devices are very critical. If ther ahppens any mistake in these adjustments, you wont get the right way at all. OK.
Probably the gps antenna is not working due to rusty (water inside it). Check the antenna disassembling it. Third part antenna for the NT1 is not available due to proprietary connector so you must buy a (expensive) genuine new one from JVC. Sometimes it's possible repair the old one.
If you still need help on the display faceplate, check this guy on ebay, he has all the jvc parts, I bought my faceplate touch screen from him, his user id is genecyrus on ebay NAU0005-001X
Connect the parking break as recommended. Then check whether the video appears when parked. If not, send it for service. If yes, then the bipass was not done correctly.
