My WD-62525 was working fine. Went to change channels with remote and picture went out, audio stayed on. Lamp light went to continuous amber. Turned set off. Turned back on and status light was blinking green for about a minute. Once it stopped blinking, hit power button again. Status light went to continous green for about a minute, no picture appeared and then lamp light went to amber again. Tried reset but same result. Looked at lamp but it looked good. Bought new lamp, replaced, but all same results.
Hello:
Make sure u replace the lamp cover as the safety switch need to be closed to make the set work. If new lamp did not repair your problem , then it may well be the Ballast Board, Sometimes call the Lamp Driver.
Yes this may very well be a service call as the ballast is inside the unit and not very easy to get to. Cost of repair should run any where from 250-300 dollars to repair including service call. Make sure the service call charge is added to the final cost of repair if you decided to have them repair it.

I would imagine that is a service call and not a user fix? Costly on a scale of 1-10?
