I also cannot find my McCulloch gas chain saw user manual. It is a model MS1838AV. The chain won't spin when pressure by the wood being cut is placed against it. Not sure if there is a clutch adjustment or not?

Call 1-800-521-8559 select parts department , ask them to email you a owners manual, takes about 1 hour and it's FREE

The McCulloch download site is often buggy and does not work thats why it is better to call them to have it emailed to you direct. Again, it is free.

I have a Mcculloch 380 power mac- at times there is no idle and the carb. will feed to much fuel, which makes it hard to start. Carb has been removed carefully broken down and cleaned (twice). Fuel line and filter inspected. Proper fuel mix and fresh fuel. Spark plug replaced as needed. Good compression as well. E-Mail me at

Forget the manual. buy a carburator rebuild kit and \or gas lines. It will probally be a zama carb but take it off and take it to a local mower repair shop and they can get you the kit. The gas line you can buy at lowes or the mower shop also.

I am looking for a part for my electric chain saw model number em235 I need a new 6 tooth drive sprocket for this model. It is a 2006 make.

Check
http://www.mfgsupply.com/ChainsawSprockHusq.html/mv_session_id=w6YXsBDX
You might consider using a Husqvarna sprocket since the sprocket on the Husqvarna EM235 should be an exact replacement for the McCulloch EM235.

I have a McCulloch Model PM 310 , Gas Chainsaw. How would the spark plug be accessed?....Rich

Storing a chain saw for longer than 30 days requires storage maintenance. Unless the storage instructions are followed, fuel remaining in the carburetor will evaporate, leaving gum-like deposits. This could lead to difficult starting and result in costly repairs. Never store a chain saw for longer than 30 days without performing the following procedures:
Remove the fuel tank cap slowly to release any pressure in tank. Carefullydrain the fuel tank.Start the engine and let it run until the unit stops to remove fuel from carburetor. Allow the engine to cool (approximately 5 minutes).
Using a spark plug wrench, remove the spark plug.
Pour 1 teaspoon of clean 2-cycle oil into the combustion chamber. Pull starter rope slowly several times to coat internal components. Replace spark plug.
Store the unit in a dry place and away from possible sources of ignition such as a furnace, gas hot water heater, gas dryer, etc. When removing the unit from storage, be sure to perform the following procedures:Remove spark plug. Pull starter rope briskly to clear excess oil from combustion chamber.Clean and gap spark plug or install a new spark plug with proper gap.Prepare unit for operation.Fill fuel tank with proper fuel/oil mixture.

This will help. Thanks, please keep updated. please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

Can you put an 18 in. bar and chain on a poulan 2055 14 in ?

Have you considered a rental? Home Depot rents Makitas (Dolmar) with a 20" bar reasonably. Be warned running a Dolmar/Makita will make you question the value of your Poulan LOL. HTH

My eager ****** chain saw will not stay running ?

The 3 adjustment screws are Idle, high and low.
First figure out which screws are which adjustment. Tighten the screws then turn them 1 full turn.
Then start the saw and get it warmed up. Work on the high adjustment. This does take a little while. after you get the saw running at high speed work on the low speed.

Mc Culloch chain saw

You will need a parts breakdown and exploded views to start with as well as a manual , All you have to do is call 1-800-521-8559 and select U.S. then select the parts department, have your model number ready and ask them for a PDF of the owners user manual to be emailed to you, they will normally be sent in 1 hour for free.

After that is done then you can see the fuel filter and line inside the tank you will need to replace, take your printed views and manual to the nearby lawn mower shop and they will help you get the parts you need even if the original ones are not available. blow out the carb with chemtool and install the parts, use NEW GAS, NEW OIL and from that day forward never leave fuel in a unit for more than 3 months. Good Luck...
