2 component cable outputs into 1 component input

I started back in the day of tubes. A family would have one set and it would be a 19" black and white. There are different resolutions now. The components probably do work, but, they don't pass the 480i signal. The satelite converter's analog signal needs to be set to 480p and the DVD needs to be set to progressive if it does have that setting. If the DVD is not a progressive scan DVD, then, the only inputs that it will show on is the analog signal. Some of the dish converters have a switch on the face for changing the resolution. If yours doesn't then put it in an analog source and go to the menu and change it there. Then move it to the component input. Hope this helps.

Make sure the Geforce outputs in DVI-digital
then  Boot the PC while the TV is on and connected. This allows the card to read the EDID from the TV and provide the best resolution...
 
Most displays work best at their native resolution, which is either 1920 x 1080, 1280 x 720, or 1024 x 768 for most HD TVs. It sounds like your video card has difficulty handling resolutions that high and that may be your problem.
 
One has to remember that DVI/HDMI is capable of carrying two types of Colourspaces: RGB and YPrPb. Unless modified, the PC will always output RGB.
Do you any other components that use HDMI that you can test, or another HDMI port on your TV that you can use? If not, then the best you can do is swap the cable and contact your provider about the problem,  Make sure the Geforce outputs in DVI-digital

I have the same issue with my 73". Rather then going over all of my connections and equipment I'll just say htat I feel your frustration. I have been on the phone with Mitsubishi directly and it appears as though they have a free software upgrade that should address this problem. If you call 1-800-332-2119 and press 4 in the menu you will get someone to help you. Be patient. They will make you go through all of the fixes that you have already tried. They will mail you a flash drive that goes right into the front USB port of your TV. I hope this is of help. Good luck.
