I have an office jet 6210 and can't get the scanner to work on my computer/printer. downloaded HP solution center and it says,''no device has been detected'' please help.

have you tried to reset the printer?

(Take the power cord off hold # 3and then turn the printer on.)
That is an initial position problem

Pls. visit http://tinyurl.com/6gnvj Click on the appropriate Operating system and download the Printer driver from their and follow the instruction to intallation.

We need to manually set the size to print on the card size, go to HP Director or HP Solution center then settings >> print settings >> printer settings and manually set the size and then print.
