Bought 22 inch monitor is the yellow light stanby because when i turn the computer on the light turns blue,and when i turn the computer off it is yellow

Here's some tricks I would try...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.

the power supply has a capacitor which has either opened up or shorted across. If you open it up and look at the caps (round cylindar looking things), you might see some that look like they have "balooned". If the top of them is not flat and the cylindar is warped at all, that part needs to be replaced..
These are what always goes wrong with monitors, so give it a whirl and you will probebly save yours..

That is normal condition, yellow = no video signal from PC since PC is off or PC in standby mode.

Post back what you see so we can guide you furhter.

Open it up and look for bad caps, measure some voltage in the inverter circuits for 12~18vdc, also look for bad caps with bulging tops. See some example of typical failed monitors here: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

Possibly there's an internal electronic part/s of your monitor that is cold soldered / defective. I suggest to bring it to an authorized service center to fix the problem. regards

Your inverter or backlight need to be replaced those are the main components that light up the display.

If it's a deguass problem, you can glue some very small magnets to the sides of the crt tube itself, it could be the shadow mask, inside the monitor, and if it is then nothing will fix it, if you can get a deguass coil from somewhere that would tell the story real quickly
