Question about HP Photosmart C7280 Printer

1 Answer

Everything is pinkish when I print

It appears my blue and yellow ink are not printing. I put in a new blue even though I could still hear ink in there. I am not getting any messages about low ink when I print.

Try cleaning the heads. Sometimes that will bring the colors back the way they should.

My HP Officejet Pro 8000 Printer will not print red, even though I just put a new ink cartridge in. The yellow & blue work fine. Help!

Try to uninstall and re-install the printer's software for this can be software issues. If that would not work try to remove and put back in the ink cartridge properly. If this would not work check warranty then call the printer's manufacturer.

you have air in the air line tubes. you can try doing a couple cleaning, wait 24 hrs, and try a couple more cleanings and then do a test print.

you can try doing a ink purge, but it will **** up a lot of ink, but it might be your last resort.

press menu, and then *2864 quickly, then type 76, use the arrows to select black and then press 0.
when all done press 99 to exit.

It may work it may not, its possible you may even need to do it again, however, your inks will be depleted.

Yellow is missing in printouts, and the color is heavily purple, even after putting in new red cartridge and doing a deep clean

Yellow cartridge is clogged or bad. If yellow is not being out put then it will throw the other colors off. You could print a yellow, light blue, magenta (pinkish) , and black squares using MS paint or other paint program. This will narrow down which cartridge has a problem.

what are you trying to print in black? the best way to test out a black ink is to open word pad and type some thing random and print it and see if that works. if you have a all in one printer u might have 2 inks one color and one black in the printer

My printer won't print yellow even when I replace the cartridge.

Desperate measures!

I have a PIXMA MP 750 and months ago my yellow ink stopped printing. I was only able to use the printer for black and white printing. Every once in awhile I would try multiple deep cleans, new ink cartridges, etc. etc. I talked to the very unhelpful folks at Canon who suggested a new print head ($70), but they couldn't guarantee this would actually work. They really thought it would be best just to buy a new printer.

Although I was feeling bad about adding yet another cheap printer to the landfill I'd pretty much decided to get a new printer. As a last resort I decided to use a suggestion I came across (at pcuser.com) to run hot water through the print head. It was easy to remove the print head (check your manual). I propped the head up in my dish drainer and ran hot water straight from the tap first through the end with the little circular parts and then through the end with the metal strips. I eventually used boiling water from the kettle.

As I poured water through one end I started to see yellow ink coming though the other end so I figured the ink had dried in the head. I kept pouring water through (from both ends) until the water ran clear. I dried the print head, put it back in with the cartridges and VOILA! after MONTHS without yellow ink it's working beautifully again!

If you've tried everything else and feel desperate enough to buy a new printer you might want to try this and report back.

Cannot get yellow to print

I had the same problem with the yellow cartridge. Yellow quit printing, put in a new yellow and still would not print yellow. I had a help file, don't know where I got it, but it suggested replacing the black ink cartridge also, even though the black wasn't low yet. Replaced the black, ran a few nozzle cleans and everything worked fine. Don't know why. Try it
