Re: white lines at top of screen - can't make go away
You have a problem in the vertical output circuit. Check for bad capacitors around the vertical output IC. The value of these caps are marked on the side of them. Thanks for using fixya. Please take a moment and rate this responce.

Dear hugoreyes456,
On the rear side of your DVP3345VB you should find a bunch of RCA connectors. There is a column on the right side with the title VCR - AUDIO IN - VIDEO IN.
May I ask you to try plug your cable box to this connectors and the DVP3345VB to your TV.
Before trying it, may I ask you to check that you get video directly from the DVP to your TV when playing a DVD or a VHS tape?
Regards,
Eddie Knight
With most dvd/vcr combo units there is separate wiring. When I use my emerson combo unit I have it wired that I have to be on different inputs on my tv to view a dvd and a vhs. On some units the vcr portion is wired via a regular cable line, while the dvd portion is wired with the yellow, red, and white component cable. Try inserting a dvd and scrolling through your tv inputs until you find the picture or check your wiring to ensure nothing has come loose. If that has no result you could try wiring it differently if possible to eliminate that as a possibility.
This is happening because your DVD is NOT all region, you need to change the Code.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_code - www.dvdexploder.com/ - www.dvdexploder.com/multihacks.htm www.allformp3.com/dvd-copy.../dvd-region-code-free.htm - www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/info/multiregion/ - Ok check those links out they will help you sort it.
Do you have a newer TV or a older one lets start with a newer models does your tv have 3 or more jacks on the back or front you should see a RED, YELLOW and WHITE if you have a HDTV you should see more. (LETS HOOK UP) Did your DVD/VCR come with a cables if not you will need to buy at least 2 they are called RCA cables Lets start with the dvd/vcr combo on the back you should see a (LINE OUT) this is where playback or your picture and sound come out. On the back of the TV you should see a (LINE IN) this is where you plug it in to. RED goes to RED, WHITE goes to WHITE and YELLOW goes to YELLOW. To Record you will need to hook up the line in on your combo and the line out to your tv. ( IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER T.V WITH NONE OF THOSE JACKS ) you will need to buy a RF- MODULATOR the are cheap it is a box that let you hook a cable wire to a little box and the RCA jacks to you combo and you will turn your tv to channel 3 or 4
I would just hook up the dvd/vhs player with the red, white, yellow rca cables that should of come with your unit and just go to the input on the tv to watch your dvd/vhs player. This will give you a better picture and sound while allowing you not to have to watch dvd/vhs on a channel which helps make the dvd/vhs player independent. Also if possible I would hook the converter box up with the red, white, yellow rca cables to the tv as well if your tv has more than one set of red, white, yellow plugs since it is a better connection that coax and you probably watch more tv than vhs/dvd anyway. So bottom line try to hook up both boxes red, white, yellow and watch each box on different inputs instead of like channel 3 or 4. Also to record of converter box you can run coax from converter box to dvd/vhs combo and make sure your dvd/vhs player is on tuner input or channel 3.
lcd or plasma.
are the lines solid or blurred. do they have sharp edges.
You may have a memory problem with the display which can only be repaired by factory trained technicians, or a brave soul willing to find parts on ebay.
