The proper way to set flat screen tv's is opposite of old school CRT tv. First, find a movie with dark scenes and pause on a really dark part. Now set brightness only high enough to see some detail - no more. then go to a really bright scene and set contrast just high enough for good brightness. You may need to go back and forth a few times to get good setting.

What kind of panel do you have - a LED or CCFL one? If it's CCFL then check the inverter board. The main board might be fine (changing the brightness settings changes the signal to the inverter board) but if the inverter board is faulty somewhere then the problem you described may be caused by it

Your TV has internal problem @ video stage on the circuit
But you may try to apply resoldering on the circuit board near flyback and CRT circuit board.

how much old ur tv, picture tube may be weak. lence or mirer may be dusted.

try to open your tv and you can find the flyback ,in flyback you can see the screen and focus to adjust.use and try to rotate the screen,it control the brightness of your unit

Yes you could look for the capacitor that is leaky, probably in the 200v line, or you could just open back and turn up G2 screen control on the Flyback. You have Screen and Focus on this black transformer with a long anode lead going to the picture tube of set. Becareful, High Voltage!

since you have moved your tv to 100 have the bulb at the side replace this is the light tha illuminate the screen.good luck.
