Probably insufficient memory on your pc or you are using Norton

go to www.belarc.com and download their Advisor product , it is free

Run it on your machine and it will tell you how much memory is fitted

Windows chews most of a 512mb Ram chip , if you have Norton on then it also grabs loads

2GB is about the norm these days

Try disconnecting from the internet , switch off your Anti Virus and then do print.

Hi VJW,

From what you describe, I'd be leaning toward too much resolution. Try reducing it.

For example, a copy and print at 150 dpi, is four times faster than the same copy and print at 300 dpi (Horizontal x Vertical resolution). If the settings are at 1200 dpi, yes, the process could become quite slow.

Try it. The difference should be notable and immediate.

When I print a one page document, tray 1 prints on multiple papers at a time. 1 page prints on 5 pages.

If you don't have a manual, you can find one here

My guess is either on the printer or the driver. Skimming the manual, it doesn't seem that you can set the default number of pages printed per sent print job on the printer, but that is something I would look into. This is a nice office printer, perhaps the printer is set to print multiple copies of everything it is sent. You could determine if it is the printer or driver/computer by printing to it from another computer.

If it is the computer, go into the control panel and select the properties for this printer. In there, check if the number of copies is improperly set to 5. This would happen for every print job sent from this system.

Does it print 5 copies of documents sent from different programs (i.e. Web Page, Word, Excel)? Quite possibly, one time you set it to print 5 copies and that application retained that as default. In that application, rather than clicking "print" click "printer setup" and look through the settings to see if it is requesting multiple copies.

I am 95% sure one of these three solutions will solve your problem.

920c is printing very slow, like 1 copy in 5

it is possible that your printer settings is set print high quality for a photo paper. try to check if you are printing on plain paper, select paper type as plain paper and quality to normal.

We produce a small magazine of 20 pages (A5) using open office writer. The problem is that when we print 200 copies on the Kyocera 3035 it seems to send each copy to the printer in sequence taking well...

for printing 4000 pages in a hour or hour-and-a-half, that is not bad. it could be better.
the changes in the open office not in the printer. Try to send the print job to the printer with spool on and uncheck the print the last page first.

Kyocera 3900 dn, is there a way to speed it up?

1.install the latest print driver; see if the rip/spool time is long or the printing time is long. The rip time depends by your computer (!) and the print driver (disable the collate option when printing multiple copies of 1 page = on the printer you should see 1/5 spit a page then 2/5 and spit another page for 5 copies of same page. If you see processing the spit the page then processing and spit the page means your computer is sending 5 times the same page instead of sending once and ask for 5 copies !!! )
2.use network connection instead the USB.
3.expand the printer memory
4.switch the printer from PCL to KPDL or Auto when printing pdf files.
