Printer Setup & Support Call 1-805-225-6690 We will Help to Fix issue

We have small Lan Cable Modem -SonicWALL TZ180 -W2K PC wired -Vista PC wired -XP PC wireless -Vista Laptop wireless (2) -HP C6180 Printer wireless All devices are able to obtain an IP from router (TZ 180) No PC/Laptop can see printer. Actually We can see the printer by pinging it's IP, by going to the IP in a web browser.  You can telnet into the printer IP:9001 and print directly (i.e. line printing). However if you try to add the printer it is not visible from Windows nor Mac clients All clients have most current driver package from HP

We connected the printer directly to a desktop PC and enabled sharing initially but that did not work.

    This Desktop runs W2K

Having multiple versions of MSW the sharing configuration wants to install drivers of each client.  However as the Desktop is W2K even with the most recent HP driver package the sharing configuration does not show anything newer than W2K in the additional driver dialog.

The printer did work previously (substitute Linksys WLAN for TZ 180)

Having spent many hours with both sonicwall and hp it appears that this problem can not currently be resolved.

First the LAN and WLAN portions of the router are on separate networks and you can write as many firewall rules to allow traffic to pass between them but you still won't be able to share a printer among both LAN and WLAN clients. I realize that there obvious concerns about allowing WLAN traffic onto your LAN but it creates problems if you have a wireless laptop, tablet POS etc... that needs to connect to a printer or a file server on the LAN.

Second the only client I could get zeroconf to work on was with a Mac. Great for me because thats what I use but not helpful to the 95% of the worlds Windows users who will have to manually configure a TCP/IP port to access a networked printer.

Not sure if you've done this already or not, but I would suggest installing the printer manually as a local printer, and create a TCP/IP port that points at the IP of the Printer. Rudimentary way to go, but should help.

Downlaod tz180 firmware

You need to login to mysonicwall.com to download this firmware. Did you create an account at mysonicwall.com and register this SonicWALL in your account? If you haven't you will need your device serial number and activation code, both of which are printed on the back of your firewall.

How to first time d link connection and broadband for 2 PC. setup information pl.

Here is what you need to do.
1. Prepare the modem provided to you by your internet service provider. If you are wired broadband subsidiary......connect the phone line to the modem (if a splitter is attached make sure that modem labeled out is connected to the modem line input).
2. Now connect modem and d-link. Using a lan cable from the modem connect it to wan port of the d-link.
3. Connect the two pc's using another lan cable from the lan card at the back of your pc to the lan ports of the d-link.
That's the setup.

Try to turn all devices and the pcs and see if that connects.

If you are planning on accessing the ip configuration of the dlink, type in the address bar of your internet browser 192.168.0.1... default username is "user" leave password blank.

Should you have anymore queries, just post back.
Thanks

I can not access internet via wireless or LAN. Wireless and LAN connecting to router but getting Unidentified network. I think this is caused by installation of Netgear wireless router I bought but...

who is ISP? Comcast?
what service do you have, cable, DSL, FIOS, SAT , dialup.? WE CAN NEVER GUESS CLASS OF SERVICE EVER.
can you ping the router gateway addrs?
can you ping the modem address.
is DM device manager showing ETHERNET HAPPY?

what equipment is there, netgear tells me zero.
they make vast types of hardware.
that be first tell history and what is there.
get lan working first, Wifi is 10x harder. or worse in a congested zone.
BTW: HP does not support W7 on this laptop
so, all missing driver must be fetched, by hand
upgrading PC with a dead ethernet chip and internet connection is a bad idea.... doing so kills dead all Microsoft PnP actions (fetching drivers for w7)

click control panel.
click DM device manager
is DM happy? (for ethernet) get it happy first
or all this is very hard.
no unknowns, no red marks no yellow marks.
for sure on ethernet chip

I pluged the belkin 54g into the modem were the internet comes from and 1 wire to the computer

hello,
typical setup: make sure everything is switched OFF, then, you will plug one side of the wire to the "WAN" port on your belkin and the other side of the same wire will go in the "LAN" port on the cable/DSL modem/device.
then you would take another wire and this time you will plug one side of the wire in the "LAN" port on your belkin router and the other side of the wire into your desktop/laptop computer.
1.first power on the cable/DSL modem, wait 20 - 30 seconds for the modem to go in ready state. 2. power on the belkin and wait another 15- 20 seconds for it to become ready. 3. finally power up your PC and everything should be good to go.
Note: if router is new and came with setup CD run that in the computer and follow instructions.

let me know if there are any issues.
Hope this helps, please vote.

regards,
Amar Sondhi

Belkin Wireless N router/Embarq 660 modem/No internet

Make sure your physical connection is correct. From the modem, the ethernet cable should plugged in to the Internet/WAN port of the router. And your computer to port 1. Access the setup page of the router again and Enable the MAC Address Clone setting. Clone the MAC Address of your PC there then power cycle the router and modem. You should be all set.

Sonicwall Safe mode Problem

How do I access the SafeMode menu?
In emergency situations, you can access the SafeMode menu by holding in the Reset button on the back
of the TZ 180 (it’s the small pinhole button located to the left of the Console port) for 12-14 seconds until
the ‘Test’ light begins flashing yellow. When the SonicWALL is booted into the SafeMode menu, assign a
workstation a temporary IP address of 192.168.168.200 and attach it to a LAN interface on the TZ 180
Then, using a modern web browser (Microsoft IE6.x, Mozilla 1.4+), access the special SafeMode GUI
using the device’s default IP address of 192.168.168.168. You will be able to boot the device using a
previously saved image, or you can upload a new version of firmware with the ‘Upload New Firmware’
button.

Can not connect to PPPOE DSL

Is there a reason why the Sonicwall needs to do the PPPOE auth? You should be able to let the modem do the PPPOE connection and have the Sonicwall behind it. The Sonic wall will get a private IP address. Andy
