How do I connect an Olevia 237-T12 to a cable box

The question is not clear? What kind of 'cable box'?

The good news is yours (apparently) HAS "HDMI" and that's good news if you are asking about a better "Cable TV Box".

IF you write about a INTERNET Cable Box... that's another answer...

Honestly ~ I don't want to waste more time trying to guess!

Sorry

Where can I find stand for Olevia 237-t12

Hello; I would try Jimmy's parts dot com. He has tons of stuff. You can also contact Olevia for the part, but it will probably be more expensive. John

My olevia 237-t12 won't turn on. The blue power light flashes but can't power it on. Any solutions?

It may abe in the safety shutdown mode due to short circuits in the power supply or in the backlight inverter board.

Olevia 237 t12 has hummmmmmmm in the sound

Does the hum go away when you mute or turn down the sound completely? If it does then the issue might be one of the sources connected to it IE: DVD, Cable Box, Satellite receiver..

Firmware update Failed

I had the same problem with my olevia 242-T11. I flashed it with the wrong firmware and the TV would not even turn on. The blue LED light would still light up and my PC would still recognize a connection when i hooked it up to the USB cable connected to the TV.

I was fortunate to download the appropriate software. The software is called MTK_DownLoad1.exe. I know this is the correct software to use for Olevia 242-T11 and Olevia 237T. I do not know if this will work with other models.

Here is the link to the MTK_DownLoad1.exe
http://rapidshare.com/files/17475900...load1.zip.html

You will also need to install the USB to Serial driver before you are able to use the MTK Download Utility. The USB Driver is located at
http://rapidshare.com/files/17475900...river.zip.html

BE SURE ONLY TO UPDATE YOUR TV WITH THE CORRECT SOFTWARE OR YOU WILL BRICK IT. I was lucky enough to recover my TV and finally able to upgrade it to the correct firmware but my TV was non functional for about a week and this has been a huge headache and if i could go back in time i would definitely not do it so please ask yourself if its even worth it risking upgrading the firmware of a TV who parent company is reorganizing after declaring bankruptcy.

If you still want to do this, here are the firmwares for all the various Olevia models.

http://olevia.ftpaccess.cc/support/OLEVIA/

I hope this helps all the people who need to recover / unbrick their Olevia TV's. If the links are down or you need any help please ask for help in avsforums. My id is sammykismail on avsforums and i will try my best to help you.

No 9 pin video socket

Most video cards use a 15 pin VGA connector.

There is also a 9 pin VGA connector, but they are a lot less common - I'm guessing this is what you have.

Is the video cable hard-wired into your monitor or is it connected via a plug? If it's a plug, is that a 15 or 9 pin? If it's a 15 pin, then all you need to do is buy a new 15-15pin VGA cable.

If it's hard-wired, you'll need to buy some sort of adapter. These are available and don't cost much either, but you might need to try a more specialist computer store to find one.

Hope this helps!
