Ok, So I just had the same thing happen to me last night and I just fixed it. It'll take 2 people to do it. I went on to my gmail and changed my pattern, after a few minutes my phone had a triangle with an exclamation mark come up in the notifications bar. Don't bother turning off your phone...mine didn't reset for the pattern after 7 hours of being turned off. At this point, once you get that triangle, get someone to call your phone, it'll unlock it for a few minutes. Just long enough for you to change the password on your phone by clicking into that arrow. Then your phone will lock again after the call is done. Put the new password into your phone again on this screen. Then it'll ask you to draw another pattern. Draw something simplistic, then if you want to take it back off just go back into your settings and remove the lock....just remember your pattern this time! hope this helps!

So the same thing happened with me today- a friend fiddled with my pattern lock - too many attempts- asked me to enter my google account and password, but it didn't work even though i remembered it correctly (and had data connection). I tried all permutations and combinations and possible passwords.

I read multiple blogs to find a solution (and to avoid a factory reset). You can try the following : 1. try entering null as password. (together with your google username)2. try entering your username without @gmail.com3. Combine 1 and 24. Call yourself from another phone, answer, without hanging up press the home button, then menu button, settings, try to disable pattern-lock

5. Call yourself from another phone, answer, hang-up, directly after hanging up start pressing your buttons like a madman for <30-60 seconds ending with your home button (might take a while to get the timing right). Go into settings and disable pattern-lock.

What finally worked was very bizarre - (keep clicking on the sign in button without entering anything, then enter something random and keep clicking. then enter your username (without @gmail) and your password. If you get lucky, it'll ask for a new pattern and your phone will be normal. However, this happened 4-5 after it got locked and after i tried everything. So presing buttons like a madman is the only shot !! also download "Screen Lock Bypass Pro" for next time

Gmail not syncing in HTC Dream

  • Go to 'Setting', choose 'Data Synchronization', choose 'Data Synchronization' again, then make sure that the 'Background Data', 'Auto-sync', & 'Gmail' boxes are checked.
  • Go to 'Gmail', press the 'Menu' button on the front of the phone, select 'Settings', choose 'Labels', make sure 'Number of days to sync' is reasonable (i.e. 4 days, or 7 days, something that makes sense).
  • Back in the Gmail inbox, press the 'Menu' button on the front of the phone, choose 'Refresh'.
  • You should get your mail. Double check with the desktop version of Gmail.
