How long is the battery on a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion dv9000 supposed to last? My battery pack on my laptop lasts about 1-hour.....is this about the right time for a laptop...I need to know because I have only had this laptop since November and I need to call HP if I am not getting my recommended usage out of this laptop. I do not think an 1-hour is a good time. I have never owned a laptop so, I am asking you guys.
Laptop batteries will usually last from 1.5 to 5 hours, depending upon the demand, the battery and the use. Sound burns up a lot of juice as does the DVD player so if you're watching movies or playing games an hour is about right. You can purchase a better HP PAVILION DV9000 Battery with 12 cell , it will work longger.

Is your dv9000 battery a 8 cell one (part#432974-001)? According to HP official website, with wireless network off, the maximum run-time is about 2 hours, 25 minutes. Also, battery life varies depending on notebook PC model, configuration, applications, power-management settings, and features being used. Maybe you can consider order an extra battery(Laptoptraveller.com is recommended): HP Pavilion DV9000 Battery

Refer to your manual it states it in there.

HP PAVILION DV9000 Battery Tips:
Lithium ion notebook batteries normally offer 300 to 500+ charge/discharge cycles over one year of useful life. After over one year, the battery will end up with very low capacity and this renders the battery unusable. As soon as the battery leaves the production line it is likely to start losing it's capacity. So How can you make your laptop battery last a long time?
