It may have backlights inverter board problem, check the two surface mounted fuses, also can be bad lamps. Also verify that the AC adapter is putting out correct voltage with load.

Did you install correct video driver (win 7) for your video card. Monitor does not really care what OS you are running otherwise I will go crazy try to get drivers for all the monitors I have to repair, http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
I assume you have already try this monitor iwth other PC, and also try this PC with other monitor.

It should have a replacement for you.

Check the fuse on the inverter board and also verify it does have have 12vdc feeding the fuse. Worst case will be the lamps, power supply caps look OK?

no..you dont need..just plug it and it will work fine..if you need the driver i can give it to you

The two vx900 s I have here have more of a rectangular plug for the power. Inside it is three large prongs and on the backside should be 3 wires. Two of which go to a smaller plug that connects to the power board.
The power cord is the same as found in many desktop computers.
If this is what you are referring to. Then the plug should be connected inside and it snaps into place onto the meatl part inside the monitor.
You may have to disassemble the unit to get it back together.
