Oil Burner Problems Can Sometimes be Fixed with a TigerLoop

There are sometimes that an oil burner problem fix is much easier than you would think. Often overlooked is a device that will not only fix many air problems, but also help to fix a number of other issues that can come up also. All this, while helping you to get higher efficiency from your oil burner.

The device called TigerLoop is a very ingenious piece of equipment that should be installed on every oil fired appliance that is installed. The air elimination feature is just one of the benefits of this device. Another of the benefits is that oil warming feature. The oil is returned back to the bowl instead if back to the tank. This gives the oil a chance to warm before it is burnt. This warm oil will burn just a bit better than cold oil.

When a TigerLoop is installed you only have to run one pipe from the tank to the burner. This makes installation easier or makes it possible to eliminate one pipe on a two pipe system if one becomes plugged or leaks. If you have more than one appliance running from the same lines this device provides a reservoir for the oil and cushions the flows if they both happen to start at once. I have installed a TigerLoop many times when there are multiple appliances. Although it is not recommended by the manufacturer, I can can tell you that it works and works very well when using more than one burner from the same line. If your line is too small when adding a burner the addition of this unit will get you out of a jam. Because of the way this unit works you only are pulling the oil needed for combustion through the line and not all the oil that the pumps are pumping.

The unit is very easy to install. Be sure to get flexible oil hose to install it with. They make the job very simple. Most anyone can unhook the existing lines and rehook the lines for the Loop.

Now for the best reason to install this little wonder. Have you ever had to bleed your burner because you ran out of oil? Say goodbye to that! Once the TigerLoop is install it will purge your air automatically. No more running oil out a little bleeder valve and making a mess!

There are so many benefits to having this unit that you simply cannot justify not having one on your oil fired appliance.

what is the best oil furnace on the market today 2011?

Your question is quite wide open to interpretation,Size, venting option, space availability,,,,But, if i think you wish to install this in a ,,lets say 1500 sqare feet home,, i would say a oil furnace made by olsen. Burns clean, effeciency depends on model, but sometime i would sacrifice a half % of efficiency for reliability, ease of maintnance,(not enough good ,reliable technicians in this field) quietness, odor free, parts availability, life span, ect ect.Stick with a canadian or north american made oil burner. I aint too fancy on the riello burners or even worse, a burner made for 50 different furnace model. I like the becket or aero burners. Choose a dc fan motor, direct dive if available. Stick with a chimney versus a direct or power vent.

my oil burner trips the m.c.b, what is the cause?

Commonly Reported HVAC Problems: [Copyright © 1996-2011. Hannabery HVAC. All rights reserved.]That would be the little red button on the box at the oil burner itself. If your oil burner stops running the first thing you should check is the reset button. If you press it and the burner fires up then that was the problem. If the button should trip again then there is a definite problem and you should schedule a service call immediately. Do not keep resetting the button and ignoring the problem. afg-redbut.jpg Now, what is this button and why does it trip? It is a safety device. It shuts the burner down when it thinks there is a problem. It is on the primary control and is hooked-up to a cad cell. A light sensor. (The same thing that turns outside lights on at dusk.)
On a call for heat, with the burner running, the cad cell senses the light of the flame. If it stops sensing the light of the flame, it causes the red button to trip, shutting down the burner before any significant damage is done. Next question. Why would the sensor stop sensing light while the burner is running? Many reasons. Almost all of which require a service call. Below is a list of possible causes and things to check. Items in blue usually require a service call. Items in red however can be addressed, even fixed by the homeowner.
  • Faulty or dirty cad cell
  • Faulty primary control
  • Bad or weak ignition transformer
  • Bad burner motor
  • Bad fuel pump
  • Blocked oil filter, strainer or nozzle
  • Delayed oil valve not opening (some units)
  • Cracked electrodes
  • Improperly set electrodes
  • Air in fuel line
  • Burner running with a very high smoke
  • Burner sooted-up
  • Loose electrical connections
  • Damaged flexible coupling
  • Water in oil tank

  • Out of oil - Have your tank filled
  • Chimney blocked - Have it cleaned
  • Closed oil valve - Open valve
  • Air, Pump not primed - Prime pump - may need to call for service

The bottom causes in red are common problems and can be addressed by the homeowner. Try to check for these conditions first before calling for service. Hope this helps, remember - these are just rough guidelines and not all possible situations are covered.

I found this article on the Web So I can't take credit for it..... But it is a very good place to start for your problem It is what I would start checking if you called me for service .......Good Luck

my heat in my 2001 expedition doesn't work good and in the summer the ac doesn't work good.what can i do to fix that?

If its a volume of air problem look to see that it has a good cabin air filter. This is sometimes overlooked on the older cars. If no filter is there you might have a problem with dirt, leaves or "fuz" stuck in the evaporator fins. This happens more than people think. Good Luck and I hope I was some help

My burner sparks though my burners are off

did you spill liquid on the cooktop? sometimes if you just let it sit for a few days to let it dry out it will fix itself. but if you spilled oil on it it will not fix itself. you have a bad spark module and the only way to fix that is to remove the cookyop fromt he burner box. and find where all the wire go into this usually redish orange box sometimes its blue. but that is your spark module. let me know if you have any more questions
