I have had a Panasonic DMR-E85 with this exact same problem you are describing. As I bought a Freeview Dual-tuner PVR I just bought a second-hand DMR-E55 as I liked the Panasonic interface. Two months down the line it is now exhibiting the exact same problems, except now as well as the continual self-check rebooting, it's also refusing to eject the disk. Booo. Time for me to buy a new DVD recorder again, and this time certainly not Panasonic... :(

Panasonic SA-AK87 stereo system. After switching on CD ejecting. Reset problem. Set hangs on on CD. After that not switching to another source?

Question edited for clarity and typos.

The first thing with CD Ejection issues is to try a CD Cleaning Disc. It has brushes to clean the laser optics. They always fail on the low power tracking laser. When it fails self test, it ejects.

First unplug power for at least an hour, then press and hold the power/on button while plugging back in, and keep holding for another 60 seconds .

Is there an easy fix to the problem given in the details section below?

No there will not be a easy fix for this. You can keep putting up with this the way you have been or buy a new receiver and try to sell this one on craigslist, eBay, etc.

I have a 19 inch Emerson tv with built in DVD player model LD190EM2 and it keeps ejecting DVDs. Whenever I put a DVD in it starts loading and then it ejects it back out.

Disc loading mechanism fault. Disc is not loading properly to its seating. Contact any service technician.

We put a bluray disc in the PS3 and the disc is stuck and the console will not eject the disc and will not stay on. We have tried holding down the power button, holding down the eject button and nothing...

switch off power at the back. hold down eject button, keep holding, turn power button at the back to on. console fan will spin very fast ( at this time take your finger off the eject) then goes back to normal. try now to hold eject button for more than 9 sec; it will then eject your disc. if this dont help check this site: http://www.edepot.com/playstation3.html#PS3_Model_Differences
PS: most likely, you already have a problem with your Blu Ray laser (life span expired) or hopefully you will need to just re-allign your CD drive mechanics. dont open your console if you still covered with sony waranty. otherwise; give it a try; many youtube videos will show you how to do that.
Good luck

CD will not eject disc error comes up

May have to open the unit up and manually remove the disk be very careful to put all parts back together the way it was do not force the disk out. Try it a few times before you put it back together, be careful not to touch anything and shock your self when plugged in. Only Qualified Tech should attempt this.

Disc(s) jammed in sony 5-disc player--eject won't work

There are 6 or 7 phillips head screws that keep the top on; remove them and pop the top. This will give you access to all CD's. Remove them all, then plug the unit back in and press the open close button and check for normal operation. If it still wont open, it's broken a gear and needs to be serviced. You may consider replacement of the unit if inoperative, the replacement model is priced at $129.00 and a repair would probably cost the same if not more. If you need further help, post a comment and I can help you further.

I put a mini disk in my macbook not knowing it would not load - now it will not eject

Be persistant-shake the F&^% out of it. Face it with the disk slot facing down and just shake it a few times. Worked for me.

Wont accept disc

Try this....after a lot of frustration and research, what i found on the internet for this problem was usless. I tried holding down the eject button for 15 seconds to reset the disc drive, still it would'nt accept the disc. As i literally picked up the phone to ring sony, as the ps3 was on standby i pressed the eject button multiple times and heard 2 beeps each time, still the system stayed on standby. After that i then tried just putting the disc in as normal as its on standby and the system booted automatically and accepted my disc. I hope this helps others, as mine now works perfectly.
