My camera doesn't come on

I let my friend borrow my camara for a couple of days. Once I got my camara back the green light on the side was just blinking as i tryed to cut the camara on. But the camara didn't have no screen. Now the green light doesn't come on and my camara is not doing nothing.

    To whom it may concern,

Greetings! My name is Anthony. I am a Soldier that was deployed to Iraq from Nov 2005-Nov 2006. I bought my daughter a camera (Kodak EasyShare CD40 ) from Tiger Direct in Aug 2006 as a Christmas present. My daughter received it on Christams 2006. As soon as she opened it from the box in Feb 2007 (she was not allowed to open her present until after her grade on her report card go up to a "C") the camera did not turned on. I sent it to Kodak to get it repaired. We got it back in March 2007 working and good to go up until July 2007. Since July the camera, went back to its old habit and NOT Work again. I really do not think its my daughter's fault because she is really careful about her stuff and and I believe her, but the camera has the same symptom again. It doesn't want to turn on. I really think that it is a deffective camera and I know that it has been a long time for me to react and make an attempt to fix or get this thing fix, but she did not tell me until a few days ago, because she did not want to disappoint me by breaking her camera. I know this is quite a stretch but I hope that this is still cover under the company's warranty of some kind. Or if you coul;d please tell me how to troubleshoot it would be wonderful. Bottom line:

    The camera has no power.

    I have bought new batteries.

    Still nothing.

Thank you for your consideratrion and understanding.

    Respectfully,

    Anthony Gloriani

Always be sure the batteries are charged and suited for your device.
Check contacts of the batteries and in the battery compartment of your device. Dirty or oxidised contacts can be cleaned with a dry cloth, or a cotton swap. Never use sharp tools to clean contacts or anything sharp in or on electronic equipment.

Always charge batteries before using it for the first time, or if you have not used it for a long period. 3 months is a very long period.
Always charge sets of batteries (2 or 4) together.
Do not use alkaline batteries unless it is absolutely necessary. In some cases, alkaline batteries may have a shorter service life than NiMH. Alkaline battery performance is limited, especially at low temperatures. The use of NiMH batteries is recommended.
Never use manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries in electronic devices.
These batteries are only to be used in flash lights.

Are you using Lithium batteries?

ALL Kodak cameras have huge problems with alkaline batteries.

Hope this helps.

Fault finding

The green LED is called the memory acces lamp. When you switch off the camera is will write back the last changes. when you switch the camera on and off, the light ususaly will stay off, because nothing has changed. When you remove the card en put in another the LED will flash again. At least my D7000 with 2 card slots will do so, because someting changed and the system will write that into the memory.

,my camara wont let me view my photos it says file error

First check whether your card is 'locked'. There is a small lock swith with your card. If it does not work, you better check with another memory card (if you don't have anymore, borrow from your friend). If this works, then the problem is with the card, and this is the most probable cause. It happens sometimes. If it still doesn't work, the fault is with the digital hd video camera, Take it to a authorised repair shop.

I have the ex-s600 camera and am very happy with the camera but I just tried to recharge it and it never charges. The red light blinks continuously and never turns green.

Remove the battery and make sure the contacts are clean. It might even be sufficient (for a while) to just remove the battery and put it back in. If that works, you should clean the contacts.

The next step is to try another battery. If you can borrow one from a friend with the same model, do so. If that charges, your battery is bad. If it doesn't charge, ask your friend to try charging your battery in the other camera. If it charges, then try borrowing the AC adapter. That will help isolate the problem without spending money. If it goes this far, post a response on your results.

Hi thanks for coming to FixYa. To solve your problem do this:
Find the two buttons with green dots next to them on the top right of the camera. They are the +/- and the AF buttons. Hold them both down for a few seconds. The top lcd will blink and everything will be back to normal.
