Raise the saddles on the FR to help take away the fret buzz. Check the neck for curve. If the neck has a VERY slight bow on the fretboard side the strings will be able to vibrate better without buzz. Also might want to step up to a heavier gauge string set if you play in lower tunings.

My son just bought a synsyter electric and has some fret buzz on the E-A-D-strings....I never use tremolo, so is action adjustment the first thing to try? Do you have a diagram of the saddle? He lives a...

One first has to find where the fet buzz is... that will point to the nut, the truss rod, or the bridge. There are a lot of videos on guitar setup on YouTube,,, He should NOT mess with the truss rod... that is for a professional to adjust.

6 th string 14-18 th fret buzzing coming out of the back of the amp reverb resonance presence all turned down brought it back where I got it they said it was all good

The problem MIGHT be with the guitar and this amp may be capable of presenting the sound from the guitar. Put a "fake fret" on the guitar... a piece of coathanger wire laid by the offending fret that will slightly raise the string for a test. Does it still buzz with the strings slightly higher, but at same tone... Note you might have to tune the strings SLIGHTLY with this fake fret to get on exactly the same pitch as using the normal fret... If the amp still buzzes with teh strings in no way creating the buzz, the problem is likely something in the cabinetry or chassis that is resonating at that pitch.

Buzzing of strings in frets up to fifth fret; seems that the bridge may be low but it's not. Also, too there is more gain in high strings than the fifth and sixth

Sounds like a warped neck, if the bridge isn't low what else would cause the strings to buzz.? With the gain problem perhaps the neck is twisted as
well as bowed. Epiphone are proving to be quite popular but they are built to a price and for beginners they are usually a good choice. Unfortunately some fakes of different guitars are sold on ebay and they often make better tennis rackets than a musical instrument. Unless you changed them the guitar usually has a cheaper Humbucker pickup. Check it's fitting anf make sure there are no loose parts or wiring sitting against the soundboard on the inside.

Try looking down the neck of the guitar and seeif you notice any warp or bend. Overtightening the strings can cause the opposite warp and the strings end up further from the frets. Also try some measuring. The distance between the any string and the fretboard starting at the nut and working down to the bottom of the fretboard. These measurements should be consistant
Also, check the nut to see if the grooves aren't too deep. This could cause buzzing by allowing less distance between the string and the first fret.

Make sure all the frets are seated correctly and not slightly out of kilter at one end.

That should give you enough to keep you busy for a while. There are plenty of reasoins why a string will buzz. I've covered a few mecanical ones but without sounding rude there are also player caused buzz. Depressing the string too far behind the fret can cause it whereas too close to the fret can kill the note. But that's not my field in this situation. Check all the above and then try your fingering. One way or the other that buzz will stop. The best way to check if it's you is to get someone else to try your guitar out and see if the buzz buzzes off :-)

good luck

Schecter Hellraiser C-1 question

Hi,

Yes, you can install a Floyd Rose later, but it will cost you more to buy one later and install than if you were to purchase the Schecter with it already installed. A Floyd Rose bridge with trem can cost between $40.00 for a used one, to $80.00, or even higher, depending on the features you want. If you need it installed for you, you are looking at another $50.00 to $100.00 potentially.

If you are unable to purchase the one without the Floyd Rose bridge because the cost is a bit out of your reach, don't worry. Schecter C-1 guitars are well made and sound very nice, and you would still have a really nice guitar. I have owned two Schecters , and still kick myself for having sold them to "upgrade" to a Gibson Les Paul Standard. Just because it reads Gibson on the headstock, doesn't necessarily mean it's a better guitar. To prove that, check out reviews on Harmony Central sometime (www.harmony-central.com) and see how many people are displeased with their Gibsons, and how many are pleased with their Schecters.

But you don't have to worry about installation of a FL bridge later, as they fit exactly where the standard bridge and stop tailpiece are fitted.

I hope this helps.

Ibanez intonation problem

Hi there. Use guitar tuner. Pluck string in open position. Tune. Now pluck same string at 12th fret. If tuner says flat, adjust bridge for that string towards neck. Towards bridge if sharp. Repeat procedure until in tune at open and 12th fret. Go to next string and repeat procedure.
Thanks

What size strings? and how to adjust pickups and bridge adjustments. can i find an owners manual online?

String gauge is a personal preference. I'll ask you this: what is your playing style? I see your picture and its a Jackson DK2M. One thing to remember is that the Floyd Rose usually needs adjusted with a different string gauge. With a Floyd, I recommend replacing one string at a time unless you are cleaning the neck with steel wool. If you are taking all the strings off at once and changing them all at once and not one after another, put a towel under the back end of the Floyd Rose so it does not tilt back and mar the finish. Jackson usually installs 9's on their guitars, but this is too light in my opinion.

The pickups...there is a screw on each end of the pickup to adjust the pickups up and down. Raiseing them will get you more output but more noise and feedback. Lowering them will get you a more mellow sound. I keep mine no less than 3/16 to 1/8" from the strings.

Bridge adjustment...Floyd Rose trems are tricky little animals. They have small allen screws to raise the saddles up and down. Raise the bridge just enough to keep the strings from buzzing excessively and as long as they don't make a buzzing sound thru you amp, its nothing to worry about.

Send me a message if you have any more questions. With a Floyd Rose, it would not hurt to go consult your favorite guitar shop or a friend with a Floyd equipt guitar to see them work on them.
