HOW TO MAKE CHANGES TO ACER ASPIRE 5516 BIOS, IE SN ON LAPTOP CASE SAY SN is LXPEF0Y0029171B75A1601
YET NEW on the new MOTHERBOARD THE BIOS SAYS SN is LXPEF0Y0029231B75A1601?
Getting to the bios is no problem making permanent changes to the information tab is the problem?
There is a hot key combo that will let acces the bios to
make all changes but what it is I dont know?
You cannot chan ge SN of your laptop. SN of the laptop and SN of the motherboard are not supposed to be the same as for every component in your laptop has it's own SN being produced by different manufacturers even for one single laptop, and the laptop, as a machine built from those parts has it's own. SN is not changable in any way.
SOURCE: Bios Password Reset
The only idea I have is to find and disconnect the CMOS back-up battery after removing main battery and unplugging the AC adapter. That SHOULD clear the bios completely, wiping out the password, the date, and everything else.
I know this works on desktops, and most laptops, but no promises, and the cmos battery may not be easy to access.
You should probably leave the battery unhooked for at least 1-2 minutes to be sure it clears.
Hope this is some assistance!

for removing bios password you must have to remove cimos bettery for few mnuts but for doing this you have to open case of laptop
and it is not adviceable because your notebook is new one
so find any service station if yor laptop is in warranty period or you may lose your warranty
there isn't any other way to clear cmos without opening case of your laptop and remove cmos bettery
unless you will get cmos password but as u said you didn't put password in your laptop it might be possible that your notebook manufacture him self had put any password in cmose as a company policy
in that case also you must have to go to them

Search for !BIOS,
or
remove the battery on the laptop's motherboard, wait a few minutes, then reinsert the battery,
or
Read your laptop's manual and find a BIOS reset jumper, and put a piece of metal between the two prongs to reset the BIOS.

Hi...
To reset the bios you need to open your laptop you can see there a jumper which is there is a small name (CLRSCR means clear cmos)beside the jumper you need to get it and turn on your laptop with in 5 seconds then turn it off, after that you reinsert the jumper, then turn on your computer and see if there is a bios password. "good luck"
