It might sound strange but i think the screen has dropped. I have seen this happen before, is it just one line or 2 as the screen is fitted in the shield, its held by a thin rubber sometimes it can drop when the tv is being moved about or in a lot of vibration like moving it about in a car. now this may sound strange but the last time i fixed one i used 6 match sticks and clean them up and put them in the screen housing and it keep the screen in place after that. but beautiful when removing the screen case as you can inadvertently damage the screen, the screen is only a thick as a bit of cardboard. i suppose you could even put the tv upside down on the bed or something soft and wiggle the screen back into place. this would not damage thew tv and you will not have to take it apart.

it sound like the the part that you need to replace is assy pcb maine-amlcd p# bn94-01199e 306.20 core of 50.00 or the ip board P# bn44-00168a but be vear care whan you do this job the cable the some time to git offf the pcb mount. good luck this sould help you out.

Wow, I've been an installer and salesman in the consumer electronics industry since before the first plasma TV came out (Phillips 42" and Fujitsu 42" in 1996) and this is the first time I've ever seen that kind of an answer. "Take this to a repairman and he can add more plasma" what is the repairman a doctor. If it were that easy no one would ever have to upgrade or replace their screens. You can't add more plasma to a screen, if you don't believe me call Samsung and ask them for yourself like I did. I was actually so dumbfounded by your answer that I called a tech friend of mine at Samsung and asked him, his answer; "does this guy work for you?" I told him no and he said, "I was going to tell you to fire him because that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard anyone tell a customer".
What you need to do is take you plasma TV to an AUTHORIZED Samsung dealer/repair shop and inquire about the hazing/ghosting problem with them. if u r connected to an ant. it is due to poor signals from the ant so get a booster or amplifier for the ant.

Hi, Depeending on the thickness of the lines matters. If the lines are Black and about 1-2 inches thick it may be a bad bottom buffer board or a bad panel (screen).
If the lines are thin 1/16 to 1/8 inch it is most likely a bad panel.
You can open up the set and depending on the model, see the thin board/boards running across the bottom with ribbon cables going to the panel. You may be able to attempt reseating the ribbon cables, but be careful as some retainer plugs break very easy.
If the lines are thick black and the reseating doesn't correct it you may be able to buy the coresponding buffer. Unfortunately some bottom buffers are actually part of the panel. If you are not comfortable taking it apart then call a professional but be aware labor charges start around $200 not counting parts, panels start at $600 up to over $1000

Yes the diffusion problem on your tv is due to the pdp panel aging. What you can try is readjusting the VSCAN voltage, there is a test point marked VSCAN using a DVM you can first check the voltage, should be around -- 190 turn the adjustment counter clockwise this should reduce the voltage, watcthing the picture turn control untill the sparkling pixels stop. That should do it. The panel is starting to age this may occur again until you can't adjust it out meaning a bad panel.
