I am not sure this is the right refrig. I have a model 253.78259800 top freezer with a model JD-21 ice maker. The ice bucket keeps filling up with a solid piece of ice. It makes and drops cubes, then water runs into the tray and overflows into the bucket and freezes. What could this be?? Is there an adjustment for the water going into the tray?

There s a adjustment but it only controls /like 1 to 2 oz of water . its prbably the ice mker unit or the water valve . .. ice mker tell water how long to let water in and if valve is bak it might not shop off causing water fill . change water valve first . then ice maker if needed .. icemker might have a bad tray and some cubes do not drop / if so next fill will over fill causing problem . mm

Beko Fridge Freezer Ice Maker intermittent fault

I would agree with the the last poster just one final thing to check make sure the bottom of your fridge in the back of your fridge is dust free dust builds up on the condensers and they get blocks and they don't work as efficiently and also make sure there's the correct space between the back side top and bottom of the fridge according to the specifications I don't have them with me but you should have them in your user manual if you have one.

Bx 21 refrig with ice maker in lower freezer floods over when it fill the ice tray is it the water valve or the ice maker bad

The valve could be bad if the water continues to run and overflow or if the valve is slow to close allowing it to overflow. If it just fills and cuts off quickly then the ice maker may be the problem. On some ice maker you can take off the plastic end cover and look for the + -. Turning it towards the - is less water. -

My icemaker isn't working. There's no water in the trays and it doesn't sound like it's trying. The model is tbx18ci.

Not sure what setup your ice maker has to let it know when the ice tray is full, but some ice makers have a bail that goes up with rising ice levels. When the ice bucket fills up, the ice maker shuts down.

Lifting the bail up all the way until it catches on a small ledge turns this type ice maker off. If ice is allowed to stack in the bucket too high, or is shoved back as someone scooped out ice, the bail may inadvertently have been pushed onto the ledge.

Bottom line; check whatever method your ice maker uses to turn off ice production when the bucket is full to see if it is in the OFF position.

No ice instead water dripping down into freezer making icicles

If you have icicles, where are they forming at? If on the front of the ice bucket, then look at the dispenser shoot door is closing all the way. The way to check that is to look into the shoot while holding a flash light (or bright light) up into the dispenser from the front side of door. You should see no light.

Now if you have ice buildup around the inside of bucket, mainly from the ice maker to the bucket then you either have an ice maker that is leaking water or you have a water valve that is not shutting off all the way. Suspect water valve if you have ice buildup within water inlet tube on top of ice maker. Frozen water within tube is good indication that water valve is leaking.

Look inside refrig side of refrig, usually located on right top side of wall, you will find a tag with model number and serial number. Need both to get you the right part number for ice maker or water valve.

11 year old amana bottom freezer icemaker drips water when filling tray

Hello dunc444444
Welcome,
You said, Bottom freezer works fine, but upper refrigerator has no cold air

Is your freezer so full that it is packed to the top especially in the rear?
Refrigerators and freezers share the air from the compressor and travel through vents in the rear of the freezer and fridge.
Sometimes it can effect the cooling in the fridge if the freezer articles block the vents!

The water overfilling in the ice maker is an ice maker problem only.
When we install an ice maker there is a short white plastic tube that we push through the rear
hole of the fridge which supply's the water to the maker, the outside water line attaches to this.
That tube we push through the fridge must go in till it stops. And empties in to a little sistran at the rear of the ice maker. Make sure it did not sip out or backwards a little when you may have moved
rolled the fridge out to clean under it!

Also you need periodically to remove the front grill down in front of the fridge and gently run a refrigerator brush under the coils to clean out the dust that may block air flow over the coils.(the coils are metal black tubes that run back and forth along the bottom of your fridge.
The vacuum will not reach in to that tight space. That's why they make a special brush for this chore.
Let me know how you do?

Ice maker & top fan motor is not running

If the fan is not running the freezer will not be cold enough for the ice maker to run. The fan may be stuck. Or it may need to be replaced. If you can remove the ice maker and take off the back panel of the freezer. Try to spin the fan to get it going. If not you may have to replace the fan.

ICE MAKER SUB ZERO REFIGERATOR

Check water turned on. check ice button switch turned on in fridge. remove juice storage, ice container in freezer, check ice bucket full white plastic flapper to make sure not stuck on a white peg at top. flapper must hang down and be freely movable to signal ice maker to keep busy. If up high will turn off ice maker. Lots of other parts especially heater circuits involved also: fill tube supply heater not working then frozen supply line then no ice. Look for wiring diagram in ziplock behind compressor grille. can order parts at repairclinic.com. logical design, layout, easy to get to sensors, heaters. makes sense if look at it long enough.
