My Hoover Optima OPH 714 D washing machine won't start
I have a Hoover Optima OPH 714 D washing machine (15 months old). Yesterday the electricity tripped in our house, which we thought might be due to xmas lights. We reset the trip switch and the electricity supply in the house is fine. Unfortunately, now the washer won't work. The lights on the control panel come on but the red door lock button just flashes. We have turned the washer off and also off at the wall socket. When it is turned back on I can select a cycle, spin speed, temp etc but when I press 'start' the red door lock button just flashes and nothing else happens. Any suggestions?
It is possible that the door is not shut properly. Open the door to re-shut well. If this does not work then you might have a door lock problem. You can change the lock quoting your machine model number to ask for replacements; searching the net of course. It is possible that the door is not shut properly. Open the door to re-shut well. Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Manual
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make model number) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount.
You could also try the manufacturer's web site direct ;-0)
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Error code e005 means the temperature sensor has gone bad. To fix this error you'll need to replace the temperature sensor. It might have happened that the temperature sensor wires have been disconnected from the main board. To replace the temperature sensor you'll need to disassemble the washer and inspect the drum's bottom for the temperature sensor. Also check the wires coming to the sensor fro any cut.
hi I had this fault, google said it was tachometer fault. the e08 fault on my hoover optima was not the tachometer, i checked it, but the fix was very easy, the motor brushes were worn out and i changed them for 10 quid, I made a video of it its on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYn-f78GB4U and it shows you how to test the tacho and how to change the brushes, hope this helps someone
