My problem is that I can't find another source to buy a broken door handle for my washer/dryer online. I have contacted appliance desk at equator corporation and they say the handle can't be ordered for 3 or 4 weeks. But, there must be another place to find the handle
please help...
I have the same problem and I have a makeshift solution which I was able to do in 45 minutes and total cost was less than $1.
Step 1: Remove door from machine.
Step 2: Disassemble door with the two plastic donut shells. This means removing 6 or so flathead screws. Take care to note alignment of glass parts because they aren't perfect circles and only fit one way.
Step 3: Pull out pin that threads the spring and broken plastic handle remnant and metal latch piece.
Step 4: Discard broken plastic and replace the rest of the apparatus. The metal latch can move up and down, but that's ok.
Step 5: Purchase a paint-can opener:

Step 6: Re-attach door.
Step 7: You can use the paint-can opener to the right of the latch to lever-open and lever close the latch in order to open and close the door.
Cheap, easy. Not pretty at all. Definitely something your friends would make fun of you for doing, but it saves you $1,000 of a new machine, in this economy.

I have THE same issue and some others with this same model .
May i ask how much the repair kit for the door handle was?? should be free since seems they made a poor design to start
right now I am so dissapointed I bought this thing .. it is difficult in every way and saves no energy that is for sure. Now i have no choice but to keep it and repair the door if possible.
thanks to all for the info and making finding the repair kit so easy !!!! i really appreciate all the posts here,

Received door handle kit on Aug 6th, finally...
I've figured out that the Equator EZ3612CEE combo washer/dryer is identical to the Spendide WDC6200CEE. Try calling Splendide for the door handle or other pasts.

I have the same problem, just spoke to customer service at appliancedesk, the handle (part # 082299) is still on backorder, with no ETA in sight. This is ridiculous.
Called Appliance Desk at 1 800 776 3538 (yes, they have toll free number) on June 18 and talked to Gary Jackson.
He said there was a delay in production in Italy, but factory started manufacturing door handles already.
ETA is the second or third week of July.
Try these sites: they should also have toll free numbers

Have you guys found where I can get the broken handle? EZ3612 CEE.
I have been waiting for this part since Oct 07, now it is end of Jan. They say that parts will be ready 2-3 weeks after 2-3 weeks..... When are they going to get this parts??? Does anyone know where I can get the door handle?
I have the same issue...I called and they told me 3-4 weeks but I can't wait that long. Anyone know how to get a door handle it sooner?
door handle broke and equator hq has no idea when parts will be available. i need to replace the handle or even the door. I need to do this soon so my tenant can do laundry.
I have the same problem and have been waiting since Jan 28 for the door handle. The call center is in India and the customer service is a joke. I am thinking I may call a tech and see if someone can make a part...I have no idea what else to do!
Same issue...can't get the part STILL...have followed up several times and their customer service is the WORST!
Also, if there's anyone out there that has a broken Equator 3612 and wants to sell it for parts....let me know -- I'd buy the door handle!!!!
Yep ,I need one too! how could a company be so lame as to not have a part for a flawed design. The product is good but why would anyone want to go through that kind of wait again for a simple part that when broke renders the appliance useless?
OK - I just got off the phone with the Appliance Desk 713-464-3422 with a Gary Jackson ext 171 (very hard to understand as call center is in India) BUT he said Appliance Desk has heard that the parts center in Italy will begin manufacturing the door handle parts on May 10 and I should have it by the 1st week of June. Basically I was ready to buy a new machine (NOT Equator) BUT this is whay he said...I have waited 3 months I guess I can wait one more...it is only a door handle and the machine had worked for me for 4 years.

broken handle
I have the same door handle problem. I did order it from Appliance desk and it cost 40 bucks including shipping, everything (a bit steep for a crappy plastic part, but...) i waited MONTHS for it to arrive. it was back ordered forever.
Now I have the door assembled but the screws that hold the bracket on to the front of the machine appear to be missing whatever nut holds the door on.
Anyone taken this apart successfully and gotten it back together? What, besides the 2 little screws that are between 1/2" and 3/4' or so long holds the door on?
Thanks for any help!
Same contacted cosmotec in gatineau.....the supplier in Montreal sent the wrong part........argghhhh
