I have a panasonic plasma th46pz80u. Last week

I have a panasonic plasma th46pz80u. Last week it began to not start and I was getting 4or 5 flash on the led light next to on switch. If i unplugged the tv and plugged it back in it would be fine for a few days. After calling Panasonic we diconnected everything and plugged the tv back in. Now I get 10 flashes and the tv won't turn on at all. Any ideas????

On Panasonic 32LX TVs this is a known fault, repairable by a firmware upgrade. John Lewis in the UK sent out an engineer under their free 5 yr TV guarantee and completed the firmware upgrade for me. The only other store to compare with them for price and service is Richer Sounds but I believe you now have to buy the warranty for 10% of the purchase price. This problem will persist unless the upgrade is completed. For those of you in the UK, I would insist the seller repairs the problem under the Sale of Goods and Services Act as the TV is not fit for purpose without the upgrade.

We have a 50 inch panasonic plasma hd television we bought in 2007. The tv was great until 2 days after the extended warranty ran out (with Circuit City who, of course, is no longer in business anyway). ...

The main power supply regulator board fault. It will be best to replace the power board as card basis rather than trying to repair it. Because, in most cases repair work on this board will be a failure, especially to Plasma displays. If you wish to get more details visit the site linked here. It will help you to an extent, I beleve. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Faults of many popular brand sets are given.

Tv isnt turning on, you will hear a click then see the power light flash 6 times then the light goes off for about 10 mins then comes back on flasing again...and the cycle just continues. It did this once...

Sounds like a power supply problem. I worked for a short period for Panasonic at their USA plasma R&D / small scale manufacturing facility and learned that to "ignite" or start the plasma when turning on the set, a significant current discharge is required.

The recycling seems to indicate that the "brain" in the set realized that a plasma has not been established, and it is attempting to recharge the starting circuit. The flashing power light is probably significant and a trained technician or a service manual will probably identify this as a trouble code pointing to the problem. Sorry, I did not have any exposure to the finished product and cannot advise what the code means.

If the set is still under warranty, you should act immediately and get the problem taken care of, because it will not go away on its own, and will most likely get worse. Sorry the news is not better. Good luck!

The TV will not turn on. When the switch at the lower left corner is pressed the light in the switch flashs green for about 4 seconds as the TV seems to go through a start up procedure. Then the light...

The red flashing light is the service code. My guess is the power supply is bad now, but it could be something else. If the TV is under warranty, take it in and get if fixed. If it is not, then you may try to check the power supply first. Count the flashes of the red light and check online for the issues when this model flashes, 4 times or 6 times... or 9 times, etc.

Good luck!

Panasonic plasma TV TH46pz80u - the volume is inconsistent. sometime you can hear it at 20 other times it has to be 50+ to be audible.

There may be an auto level option in the TV for sound.

Some sets detect louder signals and change automatically

Pana TH-52PWD8UK. No picture, flashing red LED on front panel

Thanks for the quick answer. I purchased the set in 2005 and it lives outside under an overhang on my patio in humid South Florida. Unfortunately, I couldnt count the red flashes before it went completely dead. Think it was 4or 5. This would correspond with a possible fuse failure on the Power supply. I bought the online service manual, I just wish I knew what to do with it!! The fuses both seem to check out ok on a continuity check. any ideas? Thanks, Charlie
