Ensure that the input device and the connections are ok. Try changing the input device to something that you know, works. Try controls on the panel of TV. Remove battery from remote, before you do that. Try connecting the TV to a different power outlet. If nothing works, this might require the attention of a qualified service technician.
Try changing the input device to something you are sure works. Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.
It also resets when you switch to a different Input... IF you have the Auto Aspect Ratio set to On! To set the Picture Size so that it won't change back each time, switch to the Input you wish to change (you'll have to do this for each Input separately), then go to- MENU > Picture > Theater Settings > Auto Aspect Ratio > and set it to Off. Once you've done this, your Picture Size setting will remain, even after powering off, or switching inputs ;)

defective hd cable box is possible but each unit has its own picture size adjustment. use your cable box remote and change size there. use tv remote to adjust tv size to auto. dvd the same thing
It has got to be the box. I would try to contact Scientific Atlanta if any way possible. The TV doesn't choose what inputs it shows CC.In other words, it would show it on all Inputs if it was the TV. Good luck and Thanks
