DVD stuck in player, drawer won't open, any suggestions?

There is a motor along with belt to control the disc tray for every DVD player. If this belt or motor [loading motor] has trouble, the tray won't come out or get into. Check these for perfectness.

leave the unit plugged off from power for one night and try to open.

else you will have to open the unit and force the tray outside.

Disc have something sticky attached on top (label ,specially rental discs') so when you try to eject disc get stuck on tray of spindle motor.Top cover need to be opened in that case in order to remove disc

3. Insert a stiff wire-such as a paperclip or safety pin-into the hole. Push gently and the drawer should open partway. Gently pull the drawer the rest of the way open.

4. Remove the DVD and see if there is a problem with it. Most DVD player drawers get stuck when a DVD is warped or the label is starting to peel. If the DVD is warped, discard it. If the label is peeling, remove the label.

5. Turn your DVD player back on. If it gets stuck again on a different DVD, then the problem may be with your DVD player rather than with your DVDs.

6. You might need to see a technician.

Turn your DVD player back on. If it gets stuck again on a different DVD, then the problem may be with your DVD player and you need to have it serviced.

they are either gear or "belt" (rubber band lol) driven trays the rubber band has slipped off or the gear is off track if your brave and skilled enough just open it up and reset it or fix it if not take it to someone who is

If there is a tiny pin hole in the front a straightened paper clip does wonders. Simply insert to release the drawer. At least that's how it works on computers ;)
