Contol on light blinking, kitchenaide front loading automatic washer, two years old

I have reset, plugged and unplugged, checked the circuit breaker, all OK. I want to override this darn blinking light! Washer ran fine this morning. There is no load in the washing machine. I haven't the foggiest idea what to do, it is a holiday weekend, and I have laundry to do! And it is 24F degrees with flurries predicted! HELP!

rlbstein: thank you for posting to me. I was helped by tech17. His instructions to me allowed me to fix it myself and start my laundry. The on control light was blinking. I had checked the plug, the circuit breaker, and pushed the control/off twice per the troubleshooting manual. I had doublechecked my dispenser door to ensure it was closed. tech17 had me close the door to my front loading machine rather hard; that solved the problem. He advised me that sometimes the lock/latch don't match up, which causes a problem. If you other input, please post it. To me, this is a sensitive washingmachine. Probably because it is my first computer washing machine. but the pair cost me a cool three grand two years ago, and I am not sure that I spent my money wisely. Overall, I find their performance stellar. However, I have to be very, very careful and remember to maintain the monthly cleaning schedule or performance is hindered noticably. I average seven loads a week, to include one of only sheets, and two of only delicates, no heavy duty dirty stuff or heavy stuff. Again, any words of advice are welcome. Thanks.

Hello, i have the same problem with my washing machine. It's SEG W1047 D.1 (hopefully there somebody using the same product). 2 days ago, we're using the machine to wash baby stuff, but seems there a belt which twist another stuff, so the machine stop and blinking. Then we unload all the stuff and try to spin the machine using spin program to remove the rest of water that still there. But the machine only blinking and can not start. We have turn off the electric (try to reset the program) but still, it can not start the program we choose, instead of it, the light is blinking..

Obviously there is an issue, perhaps a safety issue.
Suggest don't over-ride anything.
Check your owner's manual to see what blinking light indicates.

You have a lid switch and bracket. Most likely it is one or the other.

SOURCE: Had electrical prob. blew some breakers for

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

With electronic controlled appliances today and in this case your dishwasher. The printed circuit board (PCB) transformers are very susceptible to power surges. The windings are just large enough for the normal operational voltages. Anything above or below that range causes the windings to fail rapidly. When they fail you do not get the 5V or 3.3 V for the LEDs ' and IC chips or the 12V for the controlling the relays for normal operation.

I don't see a model number listed for your dishwasher so I can not provide the replacement part information at this time.

Before I went into the parts changing mode I would first go back and reset every breaker in the house by:

1. Pushing each breaker with conviction to the OFF position. This completely resets the breaker.

2. As you turn each of the breaker ON push hard on the face of the breaker near the center of the main panel to ensure it remains connected / engaged to the main power buss bar.
Then go back and check the dishwasher for signs of life. If it works great! If not.... I will be watching for model number information if you need help with the dishwasher control parts information.

Just a side note... you may want to check your home owners insurance coverage (if your a home owner) to see if it covers repair of equipment other than the one that caused the original problem.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Kelly

Start button doesn't work on King Size Washer

Are there any lights on at the washer? If not check the washer circuit breaker in your house main circuit breaker/service panel. If it is tripped reset it and try start button again. If it trips again you need a service call. If there are lights on try turning the washer main knob to off and unplug the washer from the wall outlet...wait 10 seconds then plug in and try start button again.

Fridgeadare front loader lights keep coming on. I hit cancel and they come back on in a minute or so

Good Afternoon Rosemary, thank you for your question. Let's try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker to the off position. Wait roughly ten minutes and turn on the washer. Select a normal cycle and verify if the washer lights continue to blink/flash. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, your appliance could be experiencing a communication error with the control board or could have a wiring failure. I would suggest contacting an experienced service technician to determine the precise cause.

Why does the dr light keeps binking

Hello Gene Frank - Typically error code DR indicates an issue with the door switch and wiring not communicating correctly or closing properly. Try resetting the washer by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and if it proves to be ineffective, contact a professional to move forward accurately.

LG Washer wont start, no power

Make sure there's power getting to the washer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the washer, if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.

Washing machine suddenly stopped working during cycle

Hard Reset - In some cases the control can be non-functioning or may not accept activation from the control panel. To clear and restart the control follow the these steps:

* Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.
* Reconnect the unit to the power source by turning the breaker back on or plugging the unit back into the wall outlet.
* Press the Pause/Cancel/Stop button twice to clear the "PF" in the display.
* Start a short cycle to check the operation of the machine by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the machine starts.
