Tannoy precision 8D distortion and cuts out

Bought a set of these less than a year ago. The past few weeks my right monitor started crackling off and on and the volume cuts in and out. I never record at loud volumes and I have the volume knobs on the back up to only half volume. I do put my keyboards through them while recording but never at loud volumes I use a Toneport UX2 for my I/O. I've tried switching cables, channels, basically everything but the problem persists.

Any Ideas

Same problem on right speaker tannoy 8d!!!

I had a similar problem with a pair of 8d. On both speakers, the low cut switch (on the built in amplifier) was bad. If you wiggled it, it would sound good for awhile and then cut out again. One speaker sounded thin and the other one slightly distorted.
I called Tannoy USA, they fixed them free of charge even though they were out of warranty. They were very accommodating. I did not have to haggle or argue with them with them to get the repairs done. All I paid for was shipping the speakers to them.

My Tannoy 6d monitor doesn't produce any sound

Hiya, i assume for now that you mean the 16dip switch. If i remember correctly it is solder directly to board (could be wrong). If you are comfortable with doing this, it will need to be opened and resoldered probably for dry joints. If not then suggest hunting out a friend with some solder experience. A word of caution though, shorting out solder tracks etc could result in damage so only do it if you are comfortable. If the dry joints are really bad (sound like they are) you should be able to see them clearly and resolder (look for not so bright and shiny solder that looks cracked. Magnifier helps)

Hope that helps

Crackling coming from Velodyne DD-10 subwoofer

One of 2 things is going on.

First, the servo mounted in the driver may be going bad or is picking up some noise.

Second, Something in the amp section is going bad, hard to pinpoint the exact problem.

you say that it plays, so I tend to think it is the driver mounted servo unit.

If it is within the warranty time, take the unit back to the retailer you purchased it from, if not contact Velodyne for repair.

Crackling noise from tv

That crackling noise has nothing to do with the television and everything to do with your antenna. It is merely signal breakdown, when you get signal interference with analogue tv you get snow, with digital you get little squares on the screen and/or sound breaking and cutting in and out, get a licensed antenna repairer to come out check your signal strength as you may need a booster or your antenna could just be a few degrees off....

Bottom Quarter of Screen Stretched and Distorted

Sounds as though you have a faulty monitor. Give Acer a call and see if they will change it. They usually offer a 3 year warranty with their screens.
