White vertical line showed up. Took projector down and cleaned it. Started the projector again and white line was gone. Took about 5 minutes and the white line returned. Line is about 2 inches wide and is the full height of the picture
Several vertical white lines appear on the projected image. Tapping the unit sometimes has an effect, causing one or more of the white lines to disappear. The problem resolves itself after about 15 minutes after power up.
Omg, I just figured out why OUR projector was doing this! There was an adaptor plugged into it that we use to hook it up to cable to watch games/tv shows sometimes...once I unplugged that from the projector the lines dissapeared!
I had a smililar problem after taking it apart i realised that i had screwed my mount skrews into the video main board and cracked it along with a few soldered wires, if you havent done any physical dammage to it try a firmware upgrade

I have the same problems...any solutions or causes?

I have not yet solved this problem, but I have improved it somewhat by adding a number of washers where my ceiling mount screws into the until in case the screws were too long and making contact with some component within the casing. The result is that there is now only one of these lines that appears and disappears within a few minutes.
I have the same problem with my x1. I lowered the front raiser and it helped for a couple of days. I also jiggled the vga cord which helped. Now it is doing it again, although not as much. I don't want to pay to have this thing fixed (has anyone sent it in and how much was it?) and then have to buy a new bulb soon too. I'll just buy a new projector when the bulb goes out instead. But would like to be able to fix it myself if anyone has been successful.
did anyone ever get this problem resolved? I started with one line now I have 5. Customer service is no help as they do not know vertical from horizontal. I gave up after that with them.
We are still having the problem. If I give it a whack on the side it stops for a while. It does not start doing it until you have become involved in the movie you are watching, so it seems to warm up to the problem- in other words, it does not happen upon starting up the projector. I will not buy an Infocus next time. Will try the Dell. The bulbs are cheaper.
