Cannot turn date stamp off and date keeps resetting

If I set the date and turn the camera off, when I turn the camera back on the date is reset to 10/01/03 (mm/dd/yy)
I tried formatting and that didn't work.
I set date stamp = OFF and it still puts in the time noted above in the pictures.
Help!

Panasonic Lumix TZ3 digital camera....can't turn off date stamp from appearing in the pics. Any idea how?

Thanks, Jeff

Try removing battery from camera then wait 10 seconds before installing. This action resets camera.

If no work, locate your camera software version. Procedure should be in manual, else could probably find it in a google search. Then locate latest version with a google search, or panasonic camera website, or call to customer service and ask.

It you do not have latest version, ask customer service how to download it.

Time date stamp needs to be reset every time I turn on the camera, even with new button battery

Upgrade your firmware, or get your little tablet battery checked, the date stamp does not get its power from the reset batteries but a built in one built exclusively for it.

Date keeps resetting to 01 Jan 2005 why?

When the battery dies there is an internal battery that will keep the device running so that all of the programs will still have functionability. Once that internal battery dies the date/time stamp resets back to the factory settings which is January 1, 2005. To keep this from happening you will need to install a time patch onto the device.

    Date Stamp

Go to the Menu button, to the top right is what looks like a "tools" tab, go to this. Once you scroll down, you can select "reset all"--this will take off the date/stamp info. if you clicked it "on" previously. Be sure to update all your other settings such as red eye alert/check.

Try resetting your camera. In picture taking mode press menu. Go to setup, go up to reset, press right arrow, make sure reset is highlighted and press set.

Then TAKE OUT MEMORY CARD. Go back into menu, go to setup, go up to format, press right arrow and highlight format, press set. Input ur date and time again and then power off and back on.
