Camera repair Camera works great but the screen got broken on vacation, so I can not take pictures or view. Olympus FE230

You can use a card reader to try to download them to your computer. You could also take the card to a store like Walmart and use one of their picture making machines.

PUT IT ON MANUAL FOCUS

Olympus is the best way to go to fix it. Or you might be able to find a repair person who does it. Call a Ritz Camera or Wolf Camera and see if they know of anyone who does repairs. You might get lucky and find someone.Unless you can find a Disassembly instruction online...i tried but had no luck..ill keep trying though!

aiya, sameish thing happened to me. i have the olympus FE230.. and i actually dropped it on the wood floor, so whenever i turn on the camera light is red, and the lcd is white.
i can still take pictures though...

Better take your camera to near by service center to rectify the problem because as you dropped your camera internal chip might have slightly be damaged . As you reinsert the battery the internal chip is slightly charged after that it is not getting proper supply.

I had the same exact problem.The lens is not extending out fully or correctly, probably has broken or damaged gear or gears and needs to be replaced. Expensive repair done by Olympus. It is a very tricky and fragile repair on your own, requiring micro screwdrivers and soldering tool. I replaced my own lens but it was hard to find one.

Card corruption that may have been caused by not safely removing camera before actually unplugging it.

I have the same problem but sadly no solution.

As my camera is still under warranty I took it back to Jessops.  The camera is now with Olympus for repair.  The technician in Jessops hazarded a guess that the problem is a broken processor sitting behind the lens and as such the problem is "really bad".

Here's hoping you are still under warranty.

I took the camera in my right hand and wacked it against my left hand.
It has been working for 10 months now and still taking great pictures.
