I have a Samsung HLR5667W 56" DLP set. It was manufactured in 2005. The set started having this problem a couple of days ago. You turn it on and all the channels are distorted. Digital channels show better but have little square spot all over the place. My son noticed that when you use Picture in Picture the second channel looks fine. We also tested the other inputs. HDMI plays perfectly. Component1, Component2, AV1, AV2, and AV3 are all bad. I looked at the factory settings (Mute,182, power) and the channels shows. I think it should be 720i. I don't know how to change this.
I have service coming on the 25th. $1000 is the estimate. I'm pretty handy and would love to save some cash if I can change the part or adjust myself. I just need to know what part to get. Any help would be great.

Samsung service replaced the main board but it did not fix the problem. The tech put the original board back in. They have ordered a power supply and a analog board and will try again when the parts come in.
Samsung Service tried again. THis time this brought a new analog board and power supply. The problem still persisted. They now want to try a PCM board at $570.00 plus $150.00 labor. The tech says the is a communication problem between the PCM board and the analog board. He said he wounld fix it for that much money. He said I can get a new TV for $1700.00 on Amazon (free shipping).
By the way, the TV started working again the next day, and has been working since.
