Screens can be replaced, but most of the time the costs are exuding the price of a new camera, of the same quality. So if you can live with the crack, use the camera and start saving for a new one.
This usually means that the liquid crystal has been broken in that section. Usually caused by something poking or pressing on that section of the screen. The only solution is to have it repaired or replace the camera. I'd get an estimate from an authorized repair shop or Samsung directly, and then weigh the options against buying a new camera, buying a working used one, or paying for the repair.
go to dealtree or 2nd turn on ebay and search for your camera with a stuck lens or focus problem the screen is mostly always good. if they say screen gives me an error or anything its good.
This product has a 2 year warranty, unfortunately I lost the original till receipt, but managed to get the transaction details from PC World (I bought it in Dec 2006). The Samsung telephone number for the UK is 00800 12263727 - I have now sent it off to them for repair (recorded delivery) to the service centre at Samsung Opto-Electronics UK Ltd, Samsung House, 1000 Hillswood Drive, Hillswood Business Park, Chertsey, KT16 0PS - On talking to their service team, when the camera "Beeps" 3 times and turns off it is faulty, and will need to be repaired - So no easy fix - It's over to you now!!
Really is there no repair? :( I loved this camera.
