A: Hi Tim, Any of our Heath Zenith or Hampton Bay branded buttons will work with that model. You will need to put it in backwards compatible mode. Please contact our technical service team and we'd be happy to help.

Also sold by Heath Zenith and where there Product Support is.
You could use rf signal meter to check transmitter signal. I just use a unit that flashes led s when it gets a signal. Otherwise you are better off to replace it.
It seems your doorbell transmitter got wet and corroded the contacts. These push buttons are not sealed at all and thus will let rain, snow etc. eventually corrode the electronics. Solution: Find a new push button on eBay.
Heath-Zenith (I beleive they bought DESA) makes a battery remote push button bell that says its compatible with all Heath Zenith chimes. I bought one at Home Depot and it worked for my SL-6195-RX. (an on line doorbell seller and the Home Depot assoc all said it wouldn't work.) UPC is 16963961975. Item also shows a code "11G43" on a sticker on the back of the package.
