Hello; First you need to know if the scratched part is plastic or glass. I believe my Panasonic Viera plasma has a glass outer screen. I would start looking at kits to repair scratched eyeglasses or car windsheilds. There are also kits for plastics for either of these. Check with auto parts stores or EBAY Good luck! John

Yes it can be fixed most certainly. You have broken your Plasma screen and most certainly scratched your filter glass with the broken screen glass inside. Depending on where you bought the TV, and whether you have a cover plan, you may get the Tv screen & Filter replaced under accidental damage. If the TV is still under warranty and you dont have a cover plan, you may find the repair will be refused. If so, you could maybe buy the same tv off ebay as repairs or spares and fix yours.
You must determine whether or not the scratch is on a protective fromt screen or the panel itself. I don't know your specific model, but some of the LGs have a front glass behind which is the actual panel. If that is the case with yours, you can replace the front glass. If it is only the panel, then there is no way to repair other than replacing the panel which is VERY expensive.
If you wish to try something, go to a local auto parts store and purchase a windshield repair kit. This will contain an optically transparent epoxy that can fill in the scratch and make it at least less noticable similar to filling a scratch or crack on a windshield.
There are 2 possibilities that may work. I can't state for sure as I don't know the make and model.
1) Some sets have a protective front "glass" that resides in front of the actual panel. That protective sheet can be replaced.
2) If it is the panel itself, the repalcement cost will likely be more than replacing the entire set. You can try using a windshield repair kit to fill in the scratch. Since the material contained in that kit is optically the same as glass, the scratch should be filled in and not be quite as obvious. This may not make the scratch completely disappear, but it should help.
hello, if there is a scratch on your reflective outer glass panel screen, it can be replaced if you are handy with tools or diy i happen to have the screen removal manual for this tv model th42pz700u you dont have to dissasemble the tv just the outer front housing remove the back panel and theres some screws that hold the front casing on those come of and the front refelctive glass can be removed without any trouble or dissasembly of the internals just the front casing
you may need to find a selling as is plasma tv with a broken internal screen usually they are this way that outer screen dosent break easily so unless you want to pay 489 for this reflective glass part i would try and find a 'for parts or repair 42 inch pany' they will fit if they are the same size make sure the outer screen is not broken or scratched. hope this help
If the installer scratched it, then surely he is liable (under his insurance) to replace it, or get it repaired.
Don't waste your time with attempting to get rid of the scratch.
INSTALLER IS AT FAULT - ROOT CAUSE ESTABLISHED
INSTALLER CONDUCT CORRECTIVE ACTION - REPLACE...
There are liquid solutions for filling LCD scratches it's basically a plastic material that fills the scratch.
Big scratches are more of a problem. I am assuming that your Plasma screen has a glass surface and that it's only scratched, not physically broken. You may also try glass polishing compounds for filling and polishing chipped windshields. Be careful, try it on a small spot first to make sure that you don't dissolve any plastic anti-reflection coatings etc.
