My kf-e50a10 suddenly just shut off and when i turn it on the power/standby light flashes green for a bit ,you can hear the fan start up and then it shuts off and the same light blinks 4 times in red intermittently it wont stay on,it just keeps doing this over and over every time i try and turn it on

Remove the back and check for bulged electrolytic caps on the power supply board, or replace the power supply.

You need to replace Lamp only as existing lamp is weak in result and causing such symptoms.
Ballast supply is fine and working.

Check your fans. You have a stuck fan. You may want to call a service center as it is a pain to get to one or two of the fans. Theres 3 or 4 of them.

Replace your Lamp.

tv works for about 2 minutes, then shuts itself off. the red standby light flashes 50 times, then the tv. comes back on for approximetly 2 minutes then goes off again, only to repeat again

The reason this happens the most is because of the lamp being weak. I have not seen anything else cause this problem. You can varify this by turning the set off and wait until it shuts down totally.
with the Sony remote, press the display button, the #5 button,
volume down button, then power button. This puts you into the the factory error code mode. If you see the lamp code with multiple errors and no other errors shown, the lamp is the problem.
Most of Sonys lamps have a aprox life of 3000 hrs. Some last longer and some shorter.

Needs new lamp or the fan is out.

4 times blink error shows that any FAN is not running in TV as there are 4 fans in this TV.
Please check fan connectors and make sure all are plugged securely.

A 3 flash pattern indicates that either the lamp is not seated correctly or that the lamp door is not latched properly. It can also be a fault with the switches that sense whether the lamp is seated or the door is latched. Try reseating the lamp and relatching the lamp door
