Panasonic CF-18 wont turn on but power light comes on

Have you try cleaning and reseating the connectors, specifically the battery, the hard disk, and (next will be easier when you'll get the hand on a CF-18 Service Manual http://www.toughbookdrivers.com/drivers/cf-18/), the memory board, and the display ?

Toughbook cf-18 cannot boot thru window. it come out with a start using safemode, then go into window , then blue screen with "a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage...

Yu possibly have a virus
You will need to format the hard drive and reload Windows if this doesn't work you will need a new hard drive.
Try to "defragment the hard drive 1st. check the disk for errors.

I bought a used toughbook cf-t2 and it does not have hdd or operating system. What do I do now ?

If you want to keep it, you will have to buy the hard drive and op system, unless you go Linux. You can purchase them at Best Buy. The problem I see is that you really don't know if the computer works, and is worth the investment of getting it up and running. You can take a chance that it will function with the hdd and windows, or you can opt to sell it on ebay to try to recoup some of your money. You might try to get your money back, don't know if you can. That's about all I can think of. Good luck.

Need to disassemble

to remove the keyboard on the cf-18 keyboard you must remove the 4 screwsby the ESC, F4, F10, and PAUSE key. once removed lift the 2 covers and holding the keyboard from Function key sides lift up slowly. There are 4 sticky tapes holding the keyboard, once some of the tapes are off you can slide the keyboard up towards the LCD to remove. The connector to the keyboard can be removed by removing 3 screws from the aluminum center cover found under the keyboard

HOW TO INSTALL WINDONS XP PRO ON TOUGHBOOK CF-18

XP can not be installed from usb as the bios does not enable it. Plug the ide hard drive into an older desktop system and install from boot on cd. Once all files are copied over then you need to copy the i386 folder over from the cd. Reinstall the hard drive into the toughbook and carry on the install from there.

Cf-18 toughbook

The BIOS may not support the larger drive at all; I suggest you look for a Toughbook forum and repost there and check Panasonic's site for a manual download and possibly a BIOS upgrade if the unit is equipped with a flash BIOS.
