This should lead you to a possible solution or they may recommend replacement if not under warranty.

I searched the manual and all online help from Epson. There is no detail for the problem, they simply say if you get that error, contact Epson support.

Could be the printer protection counter reach its maximum limit. Use a third party software. On your web browser search bar key in " epson reset software". The uppermost link should be the one. Read its turorial.

Its Epson design. It means it already reach it maximum reliable printing service. But you can extend its service using Epson resetter. Its a third party software utility program. It will reset its counter to zero count again. Counter resetting is on the printer itself not in the ink cartridge.

install PRINT CD software from r340 installer. Just give your yahoo ID i'll send you the right software.

If it is the dreaded Service error, the SSC utility may or may not work but the 340 350 Adjustment Program will. Key to it after you install it is to set you computer date at February 1, 2007 before opening because the program expires on February 22, 2007. The first time you open it you must also close and delete a folder that it creates each used called ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM. Google it.
Also, if it is a WASTE PAD PROBLEM, it won't be solved just by resetting the counters. I did the "pull the hose out the back and ran the hose into a baby food jar" for my R200 and haven't had the problem since. Found directions for thid on fixyourownprinter.com. Just did the same for my R340.
