Hello Tech, I beg your wisdom. My keyboardist and I love the Yamaha S80 but are stumped with an operational problem. The club blues internal 039 C07 patch sends an anoying ride cymbal strike with every bass note. we love the bass tone but hate the cymbal noise. Could we please eliminate the cymbal, or replace the bass with a new bass sound that dosen't have cymbals? I realy could use some detailed directions because we're both YAMAHA illeriterate. Please use small words and explicite directions. I beg your help [email protected]

I'm not familiar with this kind of keyboard, but it is almost certainly that you have 2 parts (2 instruments) layered together. In this case a bass and a cymbal. This is a feature, not a malfunction of every multitimbral keyboard. Multitimbral means you can play more than one instrument at the same time. This is good as you can create some nice fat sounds, but put the wrong instruments together and you'll have the problem you're experiencing. My suggestion is that you read what the manual says about layering or mixing parts. There you should find instructions on how to turn one of the instruments off. You can also try to google the words "how to parts layer (or sound layer, or combine sounds) on the Yamaha S80". Good luck.

My Yamaha psr 2000 when switched on only the blue backlight is getting displayed on the screen and none of the function keys are getting lit up

If your Yamaha PSR-2000 keyboard is turning on and the blue backlight is displayed on the screen, but none of the function keys are lit up and not responding, there may be a few different causes.
  1. Check if the power supply is working properly and is providing enough power to the keyboard. If the power supply is faulty, it may not be providing enough power to the keyboard.
  2. Make sure that the keyboard's internal battery is charged. If the battery is low, the keyboard may not function properly.
  3. Check if the internal fuse of the keyboard is not blown, which is a common problem on electronic devices.
  4. If none of the above steps work, the problem may be with the control board or the display, and the machine may need to be serviced by a professional technician.
I would recommend checking the user manual or contacting the Yamaha technical support for further assistance, as they may have specific troubleshooting steps or solutions for your model.

My Yamaha Emx312sc wont run. when powered up the relay clicks in, the fan starts and then the relay clicks out and the thing switches off.

There is something electrically shorted out. DO NOT TRY TO POWER IT UP UNTIL A TECH CHECKS IT - unless of course you are a fan of whole house barbecue. Unplug it and do not plug it back in - I am begging you for your own safety!

I have just got my grandmothers Yamaha B-4CR organ there is low volume coming out but when I move the vplume pedal it doesnt increase the sound... What can I do

As I recall, the volume pedal on that model is optically coupled, meaning it operates via a light source. I'm afraid it will probably need a tech to come check it out. You can find on close to you by calling your nearest piano/organ store, or by going to the MITA tech site which has a search engine. Here's the link-

My 800 watt powered mixer was working fine until a keyboardist plugged in his keys and amp. The sound would fade out. When it was unplugged, it worked fine. Later that even, another DJ with an 800-watt...

All sound equipment has to operate without overloads in any given place. The power source should always be examined at commercial gigs and worked out with other performers along with management. The only fix is to do these checks up front and make safe arrangements.

Power not turning on. yes i've checked the outlets, the connections and the breaker switches.

Most keyboards have fuses, and this could be the problem. If there is access to a fuse on the back panel, check to see if it is still good. If there is no fuse cap, then the internal power supply may have a blown fuse. If so, it's time to see a service tech...

Hi Mwaba

first things first, Yamaha make lots of different rubber contacts for different keyboards, you MUST use the correct rubbers or they will not work.

please advise the model number and hopefully I can help you further.
