Can't get easyshare to start download - Kodak EasyShare V1003 Digital Camera

Mary, you can download the software from http://download.Kodak.com/digital/software/easyShare/v8_3_0/install_easyshare.exe

Press the SAVE button, find a place on your hard drive and save the file. Double click the install_easyshare.exe file and it will install the file. Follow the instructions below.

Installation Instructions

1. Verify that your computer meets the system requirements. NOTE: APPLE QUICKTIME Player is required for some software features. Visit APPLE to download the latest version of the QUICKTIME Player.
   
2. Disconnect all accessory devices from your computer (digital camera, camera dock, printer dock, photo printer, card reader, etc.).
3. Verify that you logged on to the computer using the administrator account.
4. Close all programs.
5. Download the software, then follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
6. To launch the software select Start > Programs > Kodak > Kodak EasyShare > Kodak Easyshare software.

IMPORTANT: If you have a large picture collection, allow a few minutes after your computer restarts before starting EASYSHARE Software. EASYSHARE Software windows appear after your previous picture catalog has been updated

After the installation are completed, reboot if not asked to do so. You can copy the install_easyshare.exe file to a CD for later installation if needed.

• Start EASYSHARE Software.

• From the menu bar, select Help > About Kodak EasyShare software.

• Note the software version. If you have Version 8.0 or later installed on your computer, review the help information for Transfer Pictures.

• From the menu bar, select Help > Kodak EasyShare Help.When the Welcome to EasyShare Software window appears, select Transfer pictures, then read the help information.

• If you do not have Version 8.0 or later installed on your computer, go to EASYSHARE Software Downloads, then follow the instructions to download the latest version of software. Approximate download time is 5 minutes for Cable/DSL, or 2 hours for a dial-up connection.

If that doesn't solve your problem you can manually add your pictures/videos to easyshare software.

• In easyshare Software, select My Collection, then select Add Pictures. The Add Pictures screen appears.Look at the Select a location field. If the My Files folder is collapsed, click the + to open the folder.In the Select a location field, select your camera folder, for example: M381 Digital Camera. Thumbnails of the pictures/videos on your camera internal memory, and on a memory card if one is in your camera, appear.

• Select the pictures/videos to add to EASY SHARE Software, then click Add Pictures. To add all the pictures/videos in the folder, click Add Entire Folder.Click Done.

Please follow the steps below: Remove Easyshare Software Click on 'Start' -> 'Settings' -> 'Control Panel' -> 'Software' Please choose 'Kodak Easyshare Software' Please choose 'remove' Please click on 'next' when installation wizard shows up Please choose 'remove' and click on 'next' Please click on 'next' to start the removal of your Easyshare Software. Please make sure that all files of your Easyshare Software has been removed from your system successfully. For remaining the progress please go to step 2. Even if you couldn’t remove the software or it is still in the list. For running Kodak Clear Utility: Please go to www.kodak.com/go/clear and follow instructions given on screen. Click on 'download'-button below on screen. Please choose 'open' and follow instructions given on screen. Please choose option 'save as' after choosing the download option to run clear utility from your PC. Please choose a save path. Open file clear5N.exe after file has been saved. Click on green starting arrow. The programme is running now. Please note! Please click on 'Ok' should messages appear for which you only have 'Ok' as an option that will make sure that you still run the programme. Should you been asked to restart your computer, please choose 'NO'. You receive the following message when the programme has finished: 'Easyshare files have been removed. Please reinstall Easyshare after system reboots'. Your computer will be restarted now. This action removes Easyshare Software from your system but it won’t delete any pictures or videos. But there is the possibility that you have to recreate your collection after reinstalling the Software. We recommend to download always the latest version of Kodak Easyshare Software. Yes, here it is! Just select your OS(Windows, Mac etc.) and then start your download. Download it here.

You need to change the camera driver to back to windows default.
If you cannot see the camera icon under computer.
Vista
• Click Start icon
• Right-click Computer select Properties
• Select Device Manager
• Go to Driver tab and select Update Driver
• Select Browse my computer for driver software.
• Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
• Select Digital Still Camera
• Hit Next
XP
• Click Start icon
• Right-click My Computer select Properties
• Select Hardware
• Select Device Manager
• Go to Driver tab and select Update Driver
• Select Install from a list or specific location.
• Select Don't search I will choose the drivers to install
• Hit Next

Just select your operating system from the list at the top and choose the download button to start the download. If you have XP or Vista, you may see a yellow bar at the top of the browser. This is a security banner, just click the banner and choose Download File then click Save. Make sure that the Save field says Desktop. If it doesnt, you can click the Save in field and choose Desktop. Then click Save at the bottom to start the download. After it completes you should have a file on your desktop called install_easyshare.exe. Just double click the file to start the program install.
