I have the Canon Powershot SD1200 IS. the functions: Disp., Menu, Func. Set do not work. nothing happens when i press them. When I hit the play button it keeps going through all my photos very quickly. and the 2nd green light blinks quickly. Not one by one manually. It doesnt matter if the camera is on auto or camera. nothing works. On the digital screen on the botton left there is a symbol of a rounded triangle with an S and bottom right there is 9999 when i change it to manual on the upper left there is ISO and AUTO, bottom left a symbol that looks like brackets with a circle thing in the middle, a square, and that rounded triangle with an S. Bottom right there is a hand with parenthesis and 9999. Please help

Try this...remove the card and battery...press all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.

Hi, I have a Canon Powershot A700 digital camera and I am facing a problem with it. The 'Mode Switch' button, which changes the mode from Shoot/Record mode to Play/View mode is not working....

If you have the manual for this camera turn to page 15.
This tells you how to switch between Shooting Mode and Playback Mode.
This is achieved simply by pressing the DISP button.
This button is located below and to the left of the FUNC/SET button.
Pressing DISP repeatedly toggles between Shooting Mode and Playback Mode.
I would suggest you try these steps with your Mode Switch in both positions alternately.

Date Stamp function won't let me change from off to on

The date stamp will only work when the camera's resolution is set to postcard mode. Press Func/set, scroll down to the bottom, then across to the icon with the clock and mountain. It will say "postcard". Press Func/set again. Then press Menu, scroll down to "Date stamp" and across to select date or date and time, then press menu again

My canon powershot SD280 sound wont work.. The sound turn on Okay, but the Video doesnt = It DID work and i dont know what happen to it !

hey boss- just figured this one out.

while the video is playing, you can increase the volume by pressing the button above the Func. Set center button and decrease the volume by pressing the button below the Func. Set button. Think we both accidentally turned the volume all the way down.

Too bad you can't tell this by going to the volume menu! Would have been nice to know I was still recording audio while shooting video. Hope this helps!

Canon powershot sd1200is--suddenly won't take pictures. power on, screen black. camera was working fine, then not at all.

Reset the camera. Go to menu button, the arrow right to settings and tools, scroll all the way down to RESET settings. Hit Func/Set button to bring up reset option, arrow right to OK and hit Func/Set again to say yes. Camera should have picture again.....at least this is what we did to fix a camera that did that to us. good luck

No sound being recorded when videoing on my Canon sd1200. Cant find a microphone volume option in the menu. Could be broken. Its a brand new camera

It sounds like you may be in "Fast Frame Rate" video mode. Turn on the camera to video mode, then press right/left to select normal 640 pixel video. (Depending on the camera model, you may or may not have to press "Func" or "Func Set" first).

Can not play back pictures or use any of the function buttons

Canon Technical Support Team for starters. But if it is bust - replacement is the only course -repairs are not usually an economic proposition
