Hello there, after disconnecting attempt to reset your ipod by following the instructions found here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320 If that won't work it sounds to me like your ipod battery is shot, there are several guides online that can show you how to replace it but if your not very skilled i would suggest speaking with apple tech support about sending it in to have it replaced. Their contact info can be found here http://www.apple.com/support/expert/

HELLO!!!!

Use iTunes 8 to sync or delete songs, photos, etc.
Just connect the iPod to computer, download iTunes 8 from the internet, open iTunes 8, and then double-click on the icon of the iPod Nano to Sync files to your Nano.
The manual for the iPod Nano can be found at www.apple.com/support
Try pressing the menu key and center key at the same time and waiting until the gray apple screen comes up. This will reset your settings but I know whenever my iPod goes funky I just do that and it's fine. If that doesn't work contact your local Apple store.
